Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Sarai Shivana. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Sarai thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What was it like going from idea to execution? Can you share some of the backstory and some of the major steps or milestones?
The concept and idea of PLATINUM PowHERs stemmed from many experiences and different business ventures. I had to come up with an umbrella to house everything that I was interested in and wanted to pursue and create an outlet for others to do the same!
For majority of my life I have always networked and been fortunate to know different types of people personally and professionally, having had my hand in many hats – I have been able to connect great people to great opportunities and really bridge that gap for others – so we wanted this to be a collaborative business culture.
It was during Covid through many Tony Robbins events and conversations with other coaches, consultants and entrepreneurs.
I remember hearing that you got to surround yourself with the people that you want to become and if you can’t find a group – then you create your own so that’s where the name came from because we wanted it to be a powerful name, and even though the spelling is catchy – it’s not geared only towards the female market.
My goal is to include everyone in this whether male or female because I genuinely believe that men showing a softer creative outlet is a strength and should be encouraged and a woman showing their masculinity is sought to be a double standard or labeled. No more labels or judgement in business!
I think one of the most important things and (this is a work in progress) through trial and error is finding people or your tribe that want to run with you – align with your vision and share your vision with theirs. I genuinely want to help others live a fulfilling life through business and through personal success!
Sarai , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
All in all, I connect great people to great financial opportunities!
Ive been described as having a resilient and competitive entrepreneurial spirit. I am expert in branding, sales, operations and client relations. I’ve been successful in this work as I apply psychological exercises with personal development to bridge any gaps.
I have built along side two careers simultaneously in Luxury Retail Operations Management and VIP Services in Hospitality
Consulting and Coaching
My expertise in these fields have allowed me to consult and strategize for other businesses – I consult to Operationalize Leadership Teams in Businesses. I align sales teams to improve their performance to increase their top line revenues.
Beauty and Business
A passion for fashion and beauty I’ve established an online beauty business through NuSkin, by sharing the business model I’ve encouraged men and women to start their own online business with zero to very little overhead.
I am a certified Neuro Linguistic Practitioner and currently working on her Cognitive Behavioral Therapy certification.
Through NuSkin I’ve attained a global ambassador title for the Nourish the Children foundation, which helps feed undernourished children around the world.
PLATINUM PowHERs is the company I and my future partners are expanding in many markets – the traditional corp game and political turmoil is something we firmly stand against. Our culture is for innovative, creative, vision and result oriented individuals looking to push one another for the best life they can imagine and create!
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
I had to change the narrative. I had to learn in my late 20s early 30s into mid 30s that the story that was told me as a kid into adolescence through teenage years and through unhealthy relationships – I had to unlearn all of that and learn what it was like to raise my standards for myself. Once I was able to raise my standards for myself and commit and keep discipline on habits for myself, I learned what the true meaning of worthiness was and how much I valued myself as a powerful woman.
Any advice for managing a team?
The advice I have for managing a team and maintaining high morale is transparency and empathy. I believe that if you are not transparent with people and you wear this mask they can obviously see right through that. Leaders or people in the role also have to understand that we are human beings that you’re dealing with and not everybody is for you and that’s OK, but showing empathy and giving an ear to somebody goes a long way because at the end of the day no matter what,
people will always remember how you made them feel not what you said to them.
