We were lucky to catch up with Sarai Ramos recently and have shared our conversation below.
Sarai, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What do you think matters most in terms of achieving success?
Success is not easily attained. However, one of the key habits of successful people is looking at obstacles and objections as a learning tool. I’ve learned along my journey that you really have to be completely honest with yourself and be willing to take moments of self reflection to help your growth.. I constantly ask myself how can I do this better? If I do it this way instead of that way does it make business sense? If I fail with Plan A what is my Plan B, because giving up is not an option.

Sarai, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My name is Sarai Ramos, for 15 years I was in the hospitality industry. I was a Director of Sales & Marketing for some of the largest hotel brands such as , Hilton, Marriott and IHG Hotels. I handled hundreds of Corporate Events and Social Events. I decided early on that I wanted to create a seamless experience for others by detailing their events and being a trusted advisor when it came to executing their events. My clients get peace of mind when they know that I will meticulously detail all of their decor. That’s how NecessaryLuxuryDecor was born. I don’t look at what I do as just decorations, I see it as creating beautiful memories for others. People may forget a face, or a name but they never forget the way you made them feel, and that’s what we are about.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
NecessaryLuxuryDecor started off with just 30 followers, I began my social media presence by simply uploading photos of my work and actively liking and following accounts in the same industry as my own. I constantly upload my content on social media, as I feel it’s the best way to showcase the different details and services we offer. Don’t be discouraged if you don’t have thousands of followers. It’s better to have few followers that like and share your work than million of followers who don’t take the time to like your photos. Social media is a big part of the world now and simply showcasing what you can do is very important. Personalize your content and express your passion through your posts.

What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
Consistency. Great communication and word of mouth. When we take on an event we try to make sure that we follow a strategy called PPP ( Punctual , Professional and Polite) the reputation you build for yourself is super important. Early on I was told by my Father that everything you do represents who you are, from the way you make a sandwich to the way you greet someone. Clients want to feel confident that the service you offer is seamless and professional. Clients want to see the value in what they’ve paid for. For example if you’ve promised a luxury decor set up make sure you deliver on that promise.
