We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Sarah Walker a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Sarah, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?

During my reign as Miss Southern California 2023, we participated in many meaningful projects like volunteering to clean up the beaches once a month to ensure our beaches were safe for our community!

Sarah, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

I have been working as a model since I was 8 years old when my mother added me to her marketing campaign that showcased our local university! Ever since then, I have been passionate about the modeling industry learning and growing anyway I can! I feel absolutely blessed to be apart of the 2023 titleholders as this community of empowered women are extremely inspiring! My platform is providing resources to school-aged children navigating their mental health as I am passionate about the promotion of mental health awareness. I graduate this August from Purdue University with my Bachelors of Science in Psychology. I am continuing my education at a local university to obtain my marriage and family therapy license to become an LMFT. I am also currently in a certification program to become a pilates instructor as the mind-body connection associated with its mechanisms is extremely interesting to me. I plan to incorporate physical health and mental health in a future private practice.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?

I first started building my social media when I started incorporating YouTube videos into my social media content! I have had a YouTube channel for almost 4 years and I have learned that the best advice for people that are just starting to build their presence is consistency. It is important to stick with the trends, keep up with algorithms, and consistently engage with your following!

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?

The most rewarding aspect of being a creative is the ability of self-expression. As a mental health advocate, self-expression holds so much importance in someones creative mind because it allows for uniqueness, authenticity, and acts as a catalyst for personal growth.
