We recently connected with Sarah Vogt and have shared our conversation below.

Sarah, appreciate you joining us today. When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?

Even when I was a little girl, I loved coloring and doing arts and craft projects. During high school I fell in love with interior design I really loved creating DIY’s, painting my room and furniture. During my college experience of changing my major multiple times, I had finally decided on Interior Design. Long story short, during the covid lockdown, I had a lot of time to reflect and reconnect with myself and the passions within me. I began focusing on my mental health, healing past traumas and found a way to alchemize all of that heaviness into passion and creativity. I began learning about aromatherapy, herbalism and sound frequencies and was eager to incorporate the healing benefits into my life. As someone who grew up in poverty, self care, skin care or body care were never demonstrated to me, this was something I had to teach myself to practice and enjoy. Through learning and creating my own products I connected to a newly discovered passion of sharing my healing experiences and connecting with others.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

Hi there! I’m Sarah Mae the owner of Healing Creations Apothecary. I’m an intuitive healer alchemizing the heaviness life can bring into handmade spiritual healing and skincare products. I incorporate aromatherapy, herbalism, crystal and sound frequency to soothe and nourish your mind, body and spirit.

I offer Intuitive readings and sound healing sessions. I utilize my intuition by connecting to your energy to access subconscious information that is needed to be brought into your awareness. These readings are focused on emotional healing, as I believe that emotional break-throughs create an avenue for change in all aspects of life. I utilize Tibetan and Crystal sound bowls, an ocean drum and Tibetan cymbals in my sound healing sessions, I currently only offer sound healing sessions for free in groups. You can find recorded collective readings and meditations on my patreon and more information about the group sessions on instagram!

I am very introverted but can mask myself to be extroverted when needed so getting out of my comfort zone has been a challenge (of the past). I’m most proud of my willingness to get out of my comfort zone and try new things. The first step was creating my business and now each step I take, I’m in more amazement with myself!

What can society do to ensure an environment that’s helpful to artists and creatives?

I think one of the best ways to connect with our communities is getting to know the local and small businesses around us. There are so many ways from searching on social media. walking downtown and being out and about to have authentic conversations. We can show support to local and small businesses just by connecting with them, which in turn enhances our communities. I think it’s easy to underestimate the power our presence on social media has, from following, liking posts and commenting because it is so mundane to us and doesn’t cost a thing. This is actually why it’s so powerful.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?

My mission for Healing Creations Apothecary is to build a community committed to healing. As I become more trauma informed, I’ve become aware of how important a sense of community and support is when healing. Considering that healing is a life long journey I want to create a network of people so that even when we are alone, we know we are healing together. Right now, I’m in the part of my journey where I am connecting and meeting new people and like I stated earlier, getting out of my comfort zone. In the future I envision a healing house where anyone is able to visit HC for our products and readings as well as many others offering healing amenities and services.
