I do! I think a break from your business is a good and necessary thing. It gives you space to breathe, take a break, and come back refreshed. Your business will be there when you get back. Don’t put your self care on the back burner before it’s too late and you’re completely burnt out.

Sarah, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

Hi! My name is Sarah Tulip of Sarah Tulip Photography. I am wedding & lifestyle photographer based out of Davison, MI. I serve all of Michigan and anywhere your love story takes us. I live for documenting love in the truest, most authentic & romanticized way. I want clients to feel those big feelings over and over again every time they look through their photos.

What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?

There are quite a few different sources that send new clients in my direction. I would say out of all of them, The Knot and word of mouth/referrals are the top sources. Referrals/word of mouth are the best because there is an actual person that you’ve worked with in the past giving their honest feedback of their experiences. The Knot is also a wonderful source because clients can find you based on their specific needs/wants for their wedding day.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?

I love being able to capture authentic and true moments in time for clients; Moments with family members, with their children, their partner – whatever it is.
