We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Sarah Robertson Garcia. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Sarah below.
Alright, Sarah thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What’s been the most meaningful project you’ve worked on?
One of the most meaningful projects I’m currently working on is still in its early stages, but it holds a deep significance for me. It’s centered around capturing the Golden Years and the resilience of our elder generations. This project is about more than just photography; it’s about preserving the spirit and beauty that remain vibrant, even after decades of life.
The idea stemmed from the realization that, in our fast-paced world, the stories and essence of our older generations often go unnoticed. I wanted to change that by creating a series that not only documents their lives but also celebrates them. Through my lens, I’m hoping to give them a moment to shine, to feel seen, cherished, and to remind them that they are their own heirlooms—priceless and enduring.
This project is incredibly meaningful to me because it’s about connection, legacy, and the enduring beauty of the human spirit. Every wrinkle tells a story, every smile holds decades of wisdom, and I believe these are treasures worth capturing and sharing. My hope is that through this work, I can give them a spark of self-love and a bit of ‘razzle dazzle,’ showing them and the world that no matter what age, they are still—and always will be—extraordinary.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I’m Sarah Robertson Garcia, hence, Sarah RG Photography; a seasoned photographer based in Northwest Houston, with years of experience capturing meaningful moments. My journey into photography began with a love for storytelling—using images to convey the beauty, emotions, and fleeting moments of life. I focus on turning everyday scenes into lasting memories.
I offer a range of services designed to create timeless images. Whether it’s personal branding sessions, family portraits, or documenting important life events, my goal is to provide more than just photos—I aim to capture moments that resonate deeply with my clients. Recently, I’ve also been focusing on empowering women through photography, helping them see themselves in a new light. Additionally, I enjoy supporting local businesses by bringing their stories to life through visual storytelling.
What sets me apart is my ability to connect with my clients and understand the stories they want to tell. My approach isn’t just about taking pictures—it’s about capturing the essence of a moment, creating something that my clients can cherish for years to come. I believe in continuous growth and bring that mindset into every project, always striving to capture life’s most precious moments with authenticity.
I’m most proud of the relationships I’ve built with my clients. Seeing their reactions when they receive their photos and knowing I’ve helped them preserve something invaluable is incredibly rewarding. For those considering working with me, I want you to know that I’m committed to telling your story through my lens, with the care and attention it deserves. Whether it’s a branding session, a family portrait, or any other significant moment, I’m here to ensure your memories are captured in a way that truly reflects you.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
For me, the most rewarding aspect of being an artist and creative is the ability to capture and preserve moments that hold deep meaning for people. It’s incredibly fulfilling to know that my work can evoke emotions, tell stories, and create connections that might otherwise be forgotten. When I see the joy or the tears in a client’s eyes as they look at their photos, knowing that I’ve helped them hold onto a precious memory, that’s when I feel the true impact of what I do. Being able to translate someone’s story into a visual form that they can cherish forever is a privilege, and it’s what keeps me passionate about my craft.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
One story that illustrates my resilience is the journey I’ve been on over the past few years. Growing up with humble means and facing challenges as a young mother was just the beginning. My path included a suicide attempt, enduring abuse and neglect, and in 2023, I experienced the unimaginable—losing five loved ones within five months. It was a time of profound pain, where it felt like the world was crumbling around me. But even in those darkest moments, I realized that every day, we have a choice. I chose to keep going, to find happiness even when it seemed impossible.
Happiness isn’t something that just happens; it’s something you fight for. It takes determination, creating healthy boundaries, and finding your own self-love and worth. For me, photography became that outlet—a piece of myself that no one could take away. It was a way to express myself, to find beauty in the world when it felt like there was none, and to capture the human condition in all its rawness.
We often spend so much time worrying about the “why” of something—why things happen, why we suffer. But I’ve learned that it’s not our job to know why. Our job is to keep our heads up, to be the best we can be in those moments of strife, and to continue moving forward. That’s what creates resilience. And that’s what continues to motivate me to capture the resilience and beauty of the human spirit through my photography.
