We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Sarah Payne & Morgan Hatch a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Sarah Payne &, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to hear about a time you helped a customer really get an amazing result through their work with you.
Something that is so fun to see, and is really rewarding, is when you get repeat orders! It’s so fun when you’re looking through orders coming in, and you see names you recognize. It always amazes me the support and loyalty people have, and it makes us feel great about the work we’re putting in—as well as the products we’re providing. It’s always a good push to keep on going when we see the result, and people coming back for more.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
We’re sisters who have had a lot of similar interests all growing up. One of those being an interest in the fashion & beauty realm—leading us to where we are now. That, mixed with our ‘DIY’ habits, and our entrepreneurial spirits had us wanting to do something new. It started in quarantine, wanting to have some sort of project or business venture to keep busy with. It seemed overwhelming to do alone, and honestly I, (Sarah), probably wouldn’t have followed through if it weren’t for Morgan jumping in and wanting to do it together. With the both of us, we were able to get everything figured out and put our heads together to get it all going. It’s been so fun getting to be creative together, and have yet another thing we can bond over.

We’d love to hear about how you met your business partner.
They say not to go into business with family, but that definitely hasn’t been the case with us! We’re sisters, and basically everything we do—we do together. We’ve had multiple jobs together, and had college classes together, so why not start a business together? We’re similar in a lot of ways, but also have different strengths which works out really well for us. So far so good being in business with family, haha.

How’d you think through whether to sell directly on your own site or through a platform like Amazon, Etsy, Cratejoy, etc.
We have our own site! We felt like that was the best way to fully set us apart, and help us to reach our full potential. We like having our own spot on the internet, and a website for only us!
