Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Sarah Paige. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Sarah, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to hear about a project that you’ve worked on that’s meant a lot to you.
The most meaningful project in my music career so far has been my EP London Lane, which I released in July of 2024. It’s a reflection of my journey through mental health struggles, relationships, and self-love written over the span of about seven years. London Lane is actually the name of a street in my hometown and I would pass the sign every day on my way home from school. It always caught my eye, and I thought it would make a great song title. I eventually did write a song called “London Lane,” using the name as a metaphor for feeling stuck and longing to escape my depression. Naming the entire EP London Lane felt fitting because all of the songs were born from moments when I was in that place.
Sarah, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
While I have been writing for as long as I can remember, I started performing publicly in high school. I released my first single, “Sunshine” in 2018 about confronting my own insecurities of feeling unworthy and wanting to embrace self-love. The feedback I recieved was incredibly motivating. I feel honored to have connected with so many people. My EP London Lane was released six years later, followed by a week-long tour.
Is there something you think non-creatives will struggle to understand about your journey as a creative? Maybe you can provide some insight – you never know who might benefit from the enlightenment.
Being a creative can be lonely, but that solitude is essential for the introspection needed to produce beautiful art. There has to be discipline because without balance, the isolation becomes harmful. Creativity thrives in the rhythm of creating and experiencing, each fueling the other.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
For me, the most rewarding aspect of being an artist is the connection it creates with others. While the personal catharsis of writing and releasing music is fulfilling, it’s the moments when my art resonates with someone else that truly keeps me going. Knowing that something I created has sparked meaning, hope, or emotion in another person is both humbling and inspiring-it’s what makes the creative journey so worthwhile.
