We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Sarah Leader a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Sarah, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. We’d love to hear the backstory behind a risk you’ve taken – whether big or small, walk us through what it was like and how it ultimately turned out.
One of the most monumental risks I have taken is deciding to switch career paths from being a special education teacher to a real estate agent/house flipper! I believe that anything worth doing well involves risks and keeps our adrenaline pumping. I jumped in feet first into real estate, quickly passing the exam and listing a house on the market 3 days after my licensing was finalized. It has been a rollercoaster of excitement and has grown into a house-flipping adventure with my amazingly brave husband. Great risk leads to great reward whether that be in how we serve others in our community, treat our clients, challenge ourselves to run a marathon, or jump in full-steam into a new career!

My career has catapulted into my life’s mission and what drives an unwavering dedication to go above and beyond! I LOVE educating, building confidence, and empowering others in their journey. Grit, hustle, communication, putting clients first, and consistently being willing to go the extra mile have propelled me on my path. As a former special education teacher, relationships and coordination are my foundation for success. There are challenges within every career, and real estate has encountered some unique hurdles the past few years. Consistently showing up to serve others first, advocating for and viewing clients as family, and dedicating myself relentlessly to a strong work ethic has continued to bolster my passion and success. Going the extra mile will always be the bedrock of my business as I continue to offer hands-on, full-service value to my clients; I provide perks that make clients’ real estate process easier, from professional cleaning to professional home staging. I strive to hustle for my clients with the utmost effort, while continuing to focus directly on my clients’ unique needs.
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
I believe that holding fast to my values, treating everyone as family, and showing the utmost integrity and respect to industry partners, other agents and clients helps to bolster a solid foundation. Additionally, offering full-service benefits to help make things easier and much more smooth for clients continues to develop a strong rapport.
What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
New clients have come organically throughout my entire career; friends, family, and word of mouth/referrals have been the building blocks of my business. I love to treat each client as family and give 150% every step of the way. I view the home buying or selling process from a more personal lens and view each transaction as if it is me buying or selling the home, constantly remembering the level of real estate service that I would appreciate myself.
