We were lucky to catch up with Sarah Lauch recently and have shared our conversation below.
Sarah, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
Roo was a forgotten dog. He was pushed into an open admission shelter because he had issues urinating. An immediate death sentence. We were able to get him to safety only to learn he had cancer .We gave him an incredible 6 months of adventures and reminded everyone to Live Like Roo…..live lke tomorrow is not promised. Since 2015, we have granted almost $3 million dollars in medical assistance and sent over 5000 cancer care pacakges in honor of Roo.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Live Like Roo Foundation assists animals going through a cancer diagnosis by providing financial and emotional assistance. All of our funds come from monthly donors, corporate partners and events! It is pretty incredible when you see how many animals we have helped funded by the communities that we serve. Unfortunately, many do not understand the despair and sadness you feel when your animal gets cancer until you go through it. Thankfully and regrettably, we have many supporters that have experienced it and continue to support us.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
Our non-profit is a lot of sadness. We had to find a way to help people really mourning a cancer diagnosis or the loss of a pet .Recently, we have included therapy sessions where we cover 100% of the bill. This is just as important as covering medical costs.
Any thoughts, advice, or strategies you can share for fostering brand loyalty?
By continuing to THANK them. You can never thank people enough. We do hand written cards. It is so important for people to feel appreciated.
