We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Sarah Grace. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Sarah below.
Hi Sarah, thanks for joining us today. We’d love to hear the backstory of how you established your own practice.
I have been in Christian ministry for years and have preached, offered Biblical counseling, and prayed for people and I noticed that there were a lot of people stuck in cycles that “church as usual” wasn’t helping them with.
I in no way doubt the power of my faith in God and the principles of the Bible but I observed what I believed to be a lack of holistic teaching and preaching and follow through with people who really suffering in their overall emotional and physical health and wellness.
Seeing this year after year, and even in my own life, launched me into a pursuit of truth as it applies to these areas and I realized that there was a need not only “in between Sundays” but in between church spaces where people, Christian or not, could have someone to talk to, vent to, and strategize ways to overcome whatever limitations life seemed to have placed on them.
Eventually, I launched my own coaching practice I call “Coaching +” because I not only have certified training as a life coach, but also as a mental health coach and advocate, but also in Psychological first aid, in addition to my training as a Christian minister and elder.
I believe that having a strong “why” as key in having the proper foundation in my practice as well as being committed to my pursuit of holistic well-being and ongoing training in the areas where I offer my services to others.
The primary challenges I have faced are learning how to properly onboard clients, manage my time, and make sure I stay at my best so I am fully present and able to meet the needs that my clients bring to me.
I have found as time has gone on, all of these things have become easier because I am constantly contemplating my practices and progress and getting more training or implementing restrategize when needed. I have also given myself permission to make changes when needed and share those changes with my clients without fear.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
My years of experience in both life and ministry were a great segway to becoming a coach. I know that devotion to God is a start, but it’s not the answer to all of life’s problems in and of itself. Even the Bible teaches the power of a renewed mind which is what one can expect when connecting with me as a coach.
We ultimately become the embodiment of our beliefs, and our beliefs are typically the fruit of what we have been taught or experienced. With that said, if we have been taught or experienced unhealthy things, then we will ultimately be embodying unhealthy beliefs and sometimes even perpetuating unhealthy cycles.
To address this, we can’t just leave our cares at a church altar, we need to identify what we believe and are embodying and begin to explore the why behind it. After that, we can break agreement with continuing those negative thoughts and beliefs and begin to wipe away our distorted lenses and toxic predispositions and make room for clear vision and new ideas, thoughts, and practices that have the power to produce better outcomes in the long run.
This is what I have done for myself and help others to do and the results have been phenomenal for so many who felt that there was no way to truly experience change in areas where they have long been frustrated.
I don’t offer or practice anything apart from my faith, however, I employ practices that are in the Bible outside of the traditional scope of Sunday sermons and alter calls, digger deeper into what the Bible teaches, and being eve more intentional about applying to embracing a holistic sense of well being.

What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
In a world saturated with coaches, you have to be very intentional about how you introduce who you are and what you offer to attract the right clientele. I do my best to not only place advertisements of what I offer as a coach but also to share little snippets of advice on my social media as a way to introduce my face and voice to those who may be my next clients.
I have also offered group coaching courses to engage those who may not be ready to enter into a 1.1 space with me but want to preview what working with me feels like in a less intimate setting. Another way I make that preview possible, is to offer on-demand replays for those who may want to explore the content but not be in a live group setting.
Putting training and knowledge aside, what else do you think really matters in terms of succeeding in your field?
As I mentioned in a previous section, finding your “why.” I firmly believe that why you enter something is why you will exit it. If I enter into a business only for money then I will quit if it doesn’t produce enough fast enough. If I enter into something because I feel that it is part of my purpose and reason for living and that I have something the world needs. I am much more likely to continue through the ebbs and flows of life and business and continue my mission despite its challenges.
