Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Sarah Garcia . We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Sarah thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Are you happier as a business owner? Do you sometimes think about what it would be like to just have a regular job?
I’m happy as a business owner. It’s definitely a lot of ups and downs, almost like a roller coaster. I have to hold myself accountable because if I don’t do anything, nothing will get done. I’ve realized that building a team is the most important thing you can possibly do, and encouraging your team to grow and being like a mentor really helps out.
Do I sometimes fantasize about coming to work, doing my job, and going home without having to worry about the stress of everything else? Absolutely, absolutely. But at the same time, if I just had a job, I know I wouldn’t be as fulfilled in my career, and I would always be looking for more.
Let me tell you about the last time I had that thought. It was a particularly hectic week—appointments were overbooked, one of my stylists called in sick, and there was an unexpected issue with a supplier. I was juggling clients , trying to rearrange schedules, and finding an extra time on our schedules. It felt overwhelming, and I couldn’t help but think about how much easier it would be to have a regular job where I could just focus on my tasks and then leave it all behind at the end of the day.
Despite the chaos, there was a sense of satisfaction knowing that I was making decisions that directly impacted my business. I thought about the team I had built, the relationships with clients, and the progress we had made. In that moment, I realized that the challenges were a part of what made this journey fulfilling. If I were in a regular job, I might not have the same level of impact or the same sense of accomplishment. So, while the thought of a simpler life crosses my mind, I know deep down that I thrive on the complexity and the opportunities for growth that come with being a business owner.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
My name is Sarah Garcia, and I’ve always dreamt about being a hairstylist since I was seven. I’ve had a flourishing career for the last 17 years and opened She Loves Hair Salon during COVID in 2020. I love what I do so much that I named my salon after that passion.
At She Loves Hair Salon, I wanted to create a space where artists feel they can thrive, and clients feel welcome from the moment they walk in the door. Our tagline is “We believe in the extra 10% that takes your service from good to great.” We’ve built a high-end salon with a welcoming and balanced vibe.
Our services include a wide range of hair treatments, from cutting-edge cuts and color to more specialized services like keratin treatments and extensions. We also offer Lash Extensions , brow services, facials and PMU. She Loves Hair Salon offers a wide variety of beauty services, making us a one stop shop . We solve problems for our clients by not only providing exceptional beauty services but also creating a personalized and memorable experience.
What sets us apart is our commitment to continuing education. I thrive on helping stylists grow to be the best possible version of themselves and flourish in their careers. Over the past four years, as I’ve transitioned from being behind the chair to leading a salon, I’ve learned so much about myself. I’m proud of the systems and goals we’ve put in place to help our team hold themselves accountable and grow.
This last year has been a turning point for She Loves Hair Salon, and I’m incredibly proud of where we are and where we’re going. For potential clients, followers, and fans, I want them to know that at She Loves Hair Salon, we are dedicated to providing exceptional service and creating a community where everyone feels valued and inspired.

Any advice for managing a team?
Managing a team and maintaining high morale involves fostering open communication, recognizing and rewarding hard work, and providing growth opportunities.
