We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Sarah Crook a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Sarah, thanks for joining us today. Taking care of customers isn’t just good business – it is often one of the main reasons folks went into business in the first place. So, we’d love to get a conversation going around how to best help clients feel appreciated – maybe you can share something you’ve done or seen someone do that’s been really effective at helping a customer feel valued?
The best thing we do to show our customers that we appreciate them is through creating an excellent experience for them to enjoy. Client experience is of the utmost importance to our team, and it is one of the best ways we can ensure that we are serving our clients well. From setting clear expectations for deliverables, communication and timelines, to frequent project updates, and delivering a beautiful on-brand thank you gift at the project conclusion, we always strive to go above and beyond to WOW our clients. My name is Sarah Crook and I am the founder & CEO of Alisabeth Designs, a branding a web design boutique for wedding industry professionals. Not only do we offer design, but our core services include both strategy and SEO. We help our clients cultivate community with their ideal customers by equipping them with impressionable brand identities, personable messaging, and strategic design. Looking back, are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?
One of the greatest resources I wish I knew about earlier was a CRM (client relationship management). This has been such a game changer for my business and has helped me to not only serve my clients better, but also to save hundreds of hours of work by creating project workflow automations. My CRM helps me keep track of all of my projects, calendar, communication, proofs, accounting, contracts, and invoices all in one place and has truly become the backbone of my business.
Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
The most effective strategy for growing our clientele has been cultivating an excellent client experience. When you are able to shape that, you will leave your customers wanting to come back for more, and they will also spread the word to their peers. We have had the honor of serving many of our clients and their colleagues for various projects over the course of multiple years and I truly believe that is attributed to our fantastic customer service. Our heart is to serve each of our clients wholeheartedly and help equip them with the resources they need to accomplish their business goals, and our clients truly feel that in everything we do.
