We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Sarah Connally. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Sarah below.
Alright, Sarah thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Can you talk to us about how you learned to do what you do?
The beauty of food is that you are ALWAYS learning new things. The food industry changes so much and there is always a new technique to learn or a new flavor combo to try! It’s always reinventing itself.
I have learned so much about food and about myself. Being able to make people happy with food always puts the biggest smile on my face!

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I started this adventure many years ago when I attended Johnson and Wales University in Providence, RI. After receiving my Bachelor’s of Science in Culinary Arts, I worked in the restaurant industry for many years until I had my oldest son and decided to hang up my apron for a while.
When my oldest turned 2, I did end up going back to work for a couple years. I was doing admin work and then I had my other 3 children. In 2020, we all know what happened…Covid. I was furloughed from my company and basically overnight and I became a SAHM to 4 small children. It all happened so fast and I wasn’t able to process it all!By the end of 2021, I was burnt out to the max. I was starting to notice how unhappy and sad I was getting. I am normally a very smiley, positive and upbeat person but I was noticing how many times I had to force myself to smile and be happy and I just knew I couldn’t fake this anymore.
The beginning of 2022 I knew I had to get better, not only for me but for my kids and my husband. I knew I didn’t want to go back to a 9-5 job so I was thinking long and hard about what else I could do and then a light bulb went off and I started getting the urge to cook again (not just kid dinners and crock pot meals) I was making my own dips, jams, pickles and side salads. I was just making more homemade items and it was making my soul happy. I was noticing a difference in my mood, I was becoming happy again and I was able to smile…genuinely. So I of course said to myself ”USE YOUR DEGREE” and give this charcuterie idea a chance!
So I gave this idea a chance and now I am so happy and still pinch myself because I never dreamed I would be where I am today! When I think about myself 2 years ago and where I am right now, it does bring a tear to my eye because I have changed so much. Life is extremely hard and sometimes it seems like everything is being thrown at you but I think it’s just making you become someone you never knew existed! If I didn’t go outside of my comfort zone, there is no way I would be where I am!
