We were lucky to catch up with Sarah Cavallaro recently and have shared our conversation below.
Sarah, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Going back to the beginning – how did you come up with the idea in the first place?
I wrote my novel, Dogs Have Angels Too while living in NYC where I saw humanity play out on the street everyday, every minute. Observing, a young couple fight over a dog lead me to write a two character play. I titled it Cindy and Bill. They became characters in my novel. Bill was a a young uptight lawyer in NYC and Cindy was a 19 year old who didn’t want to live at her abusive father’s home anymore and moved in with Bill who she believed she was in love with. She adopts a traumatized dog that is difficult to train who goes to the bathroom everywhere and Bill forces Cindy to return the dog to the shelter if she is to continue living with him. Her trauma in trying to get the dog back is part of the story. The other part is about how a top executive, Miss Pink loses her job, her savings to a Ponzi scheme, becomes depressed, can’t find purpose anymore until she starts to rescue dogs. She teaches Cindy a lesson in love. Miss Pink rises from the ashes and weaponizes her heart to battle anything.
My ideas in any creative endeavor come from listening, observing, hard work and empathy. This book was a calling because I wanted to write about how people need to find deep purpose and do something positive about it. I totally committed to the characters and the story because it was a healing for me.

Sarah, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I am a creator of inspired storytelling for all underdogs, four legged and two, spreading kind messages of inspiration and love through beautiful and trendy merchandise and heartfelt narratives. Mission not impossible: Activate our best self, reach out and help people and animals in need.

Are there any books, videos, essays or other resources that have significantly impacted your management and entrepreneurial thinking and philosophy?
Here are a few beautiful books I reread recently. There are so many.
The Game of life by Florence Scovel Shinn
Evolve your brain Dr. Joe Dispenza
The Secret by Rhonda Byrne
Quantum Healing Deepak Chopra
Entrepreneurial is about believing in yourself and knowing without really knowing how to move forward . We need to care about others and keep a balanced perspective on everything. Do cross reference and deep research on what AI or social media or anyone is throwing at you. Stay humble and keep your head above the social clutter. Don’t let social media make you a prisoner. You aren’t their slave. You are a spirit having a human experience. Go For It.

Can you share your view on NFTs? (Note: this is for education/entertainment purposes only, readers should not construe this as advice)
Years ago tech came into the art world and tried to create value with the art NFT. Some of the developers generated thousands of images of the same characters wearing or doing different things and sold those NFTs for massive amounts of money. Most of those art NFT’s became worthless. A lot of people lost money.
Yes, I believe and so do others in the art world that there is the next generation of NFT’s in art. I’m actually working on a provocative art installation experience reflecting the times we are in with a world – renown conceptual artist that has potential for massive NFT value on a global scale. I can’t say more about it because we’re in the process of fund raising and putting it altogether. If there is interest, people can reach out directly to me.
