We were lucky to catch up with Sarah Cajado recently and have shared our conversation below.
Sarah, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
Skinspot was born in 2020 out of a deep need for more human connection. At the time, I was seeing how powerful self-care could be as a gateway to self-love, and I wanted to build a space where people felt seen, heard, and cared for , not just treated.
As I continued working with clients, I started specializing in acne. The more results I delivered, the more I noticed something: people weren’t just looking for clearer skin. They were craving clarity in the entire experience, they wanted to be educated, supported, and have real conversations about their skin and confidence. That’s when I created Acne Solutions, the only acne-dedicated clinic in New England.
This mission is personal to me because I know how skin issues can affect your self-esteem and how lonely that journey can feel. Our comprehensive 90-day program goes beyond product recommendations — we help clients understand their skin, address the root causes, and rebuild their confidence from the inside out. For me, this is more than a business, it’s a movement rooted in care, transformation, and real results.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Hi, I’m Sarah — founder of Skinspot, where we combine advanced skincare with real results and a mission-driven approach to clear skin. I launched Skinspot in December 2020 because I always knew I wanted to create something of my own. A space that felt elevated, honest, and results-focused — not just another spa.
I didn’t come into this field because I saw how deeply skin issues affected my clients — how acne was holding people back in their careers, relationships, and confidence. And I knew I could build something different that would give people real results.
That’s how Acne Solutions was born, New England’s first acne-only clinic with a signature 90-Day Reset Program. We don’t just do facials. We provide a full system to treat acne from the root. Our program includes a full at-home product routine, acne coaching, nutrition guidance, and our exclusive Dermascan, a genetic test that identifies each client’s unique triggers and sensitivities.
Clients tell us all the time how nice it is to have a clear plan from the very first day. They’re not left guessing or feeling dismissed like they often are at derm offices. Our method is structured but personal, and it works because we treat the whole person, not just the breakout.
I’m most proud of the transformations — not just in skin, but in confidence. I’ll never forget a client who sent me a message in tears because, for the first time in her adult life, she felt confident enough to go makeup-free.
At Skinspot, we want you to feel like you’re finally being taken seriously. No fluff. No generic advice. Just expert-level care and the kind of support you didn’t know you needed.
If you’re struggling with acne, here’s what I want you to know: don’t give up. Clear skin is possible, and you don’t have to figure it out alone.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
One of the biggest tests of resilience for me has been learning how to lead a team. I’ve had incredible wins, but I’ve also dealt with some really tough situations, especially when it comes to employees. There have been moments where I was betrayed, copied, disrespected, or had to make hard decisions to protect the business I built from the ground up.
Those moments taught me that being a good leader doesn’t always mean being liked, it means standing firm in your values and protecting your vision, even when it’s uncomfortable. I’ve had to rebuild from setbacks, rehire, retrain, and re-center my mission more times than I can count. But every time, I came back stronger and more focused.
Resilience, for me, is knowing that the business isn’t just a brand, it’s my name, my reputation, my livelihood. And I’ll protect it like it deserves to be protected.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
One lesson I had to unlearn was the idea that you should always “work smarter, not harder.”
It sounds cute, but in the real world of entrepreneurship, especially when you’re building something from scratch, you can’t skip the hard work. You can’t delegate what you don’t understand. You don’t get to “optimize” what you’ve never built.
I learned that working smarter only becomes possible after you’ve worked harder than you ever thought you could , for an insane amount of time. Only then do you truly understand what needs to be streamlined, delegated, or cut.
Building a business is not about shortcuts. It’s about showing up every single day, even when it’s exhausting, even when no one sees you. That level of commitment is what earns you the right to work smarter later on.
