Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Sarah Arizola-Claros. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Sarah, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to start by getting your thoughts on what you are seeing as some the biggest trends emerging in your industry
Marketing professionals and clients, especially those in service-based and retail industries, can expect to see a truly personalized and tailored content experience unique to each user. For example, with the right customer relationship management (CRM) platform, you can create a seamless path to purchase for your buyer. You can send the right messaging at each stage, like creating informative e-books and one-sheet guides during the awareness stage and providing free samples during the consideration stage. Though the content examples above have been used by businesses for some years now, these days, artificial intelligence is increasing engagement and conversions.
AI insights can identify patterns about a customer, such as sentiment, likes, and dislikes, and enhance the customer’s buying journey and a business’s overall marketing strategy and product or service offering.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
Before establishing New Generation Digital in 2016, I worked as a marketer for various agencies and Fortune 500 companies. It was during my time in the corporate world that I saw the lack of care and customization. In order for the organizations I worked for to take on more clients and keep resource costs down, the same cookie-cutter approach to social media, content marketing, SEO, and more was used on businesses with different markets, audiences, and overall needs.
That is not how effective marketing is done, and that is why I decided to branch off and become an ally for small to mid-size business owners.
At New Generation Digital, our partnership with you is personal. Your success is our success. You are not “just another client” whose marketing strategy gets mixed into a rotation once a week. We work to understand the ins and outs of your business, products, and service(s) to create a personalized marketing strategy that separates you from your competition. We become part of your team, working on your behalf to market your business in a way that showcases your expertise and authority while building consumer trust.
We’d love to hear the story of how you turned a side-hustle into a something much bigger.
My business started as a side-hustle. I held a 50 to 60-hour workweek at agencies and corporations and dedicated my evenings and weekends to my businesses’ clients.
My first client was referred to me back in early 2016, and for four years, I worked to grow my business from one client into the multi-client managing agency it is today.
For me, letting go of the stability, reliable income, and benefits that came from a “9 to 5” job was hard. It was my safety blanket. My mentality was that if I lost a client or things took a turn for my business, I could always fall back on it.
Putting my company and personal goals first was scary. After all, there is no guarantee that things will work. However, building up my company size and stability throughout those four years provided me with the push I needed to close the corporate chapter of my career and commit to entrepreneurism.
Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
I think being authentic during the consultation process has helped to grow my business. There are no thrills and big sales pitches when I speak to potential clients for the first time. I get to know them and their business goals. I ask them questions about their interests, team, past experiences with marketing professionals/agencies, and more. For me, connecting with a client on a business level helps build rapport and get to know the person behind the brand.
Doing so builds trust over time and makes it easy to create a custom marketing strategy and reporting style that aligns with their expectations and delivers the results they are after.
This approach has endeared us to our clients and has contributed to our high referral rate.
However, every business is different. I have heard success stories from business owners who have used social media ads, review systems, and even referral programs to build their clientele. My advice is to use what you are good at (SEO, social media, email marketing, video marketing, etc.) and implement it in your approach to increasing brand awareness and growing your client base.
