We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Sarah Alsaud. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Sarah below.
Alright, Sarah thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Can you talk to us about a risk you’ve taken – walk us through the story?
Venturing into business without prior expertise in crucial areas like marketing, sales, and supply chain management was a risky gamble, the hands-on learning experience proved invaluable, though it may have come at a significant financial cost. A substantial financial hit at this early stage can severely hamper the business’s growth and stability, potentially leading to its premature closure and lost of investment.
Thankfully I realized this risk at an early stage in the process, and I started equipping myself with knowledge by reading books and articles, and consulting people who have expertise in these fields. One of those resources was Service Corps of Retired Executives, or SCORE.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I’m Sarah, the visionary force behind UZZA Lash. My journey into the beauty industry started with a personal quest for clean, radiant skin. Okay – so how did you figure out the manufacturing part? Did you have prior experience?
I manufacture my own products. I designed them at home, and file for patents when we need to, and contact vendors to manufacture them. At the beginning, I started with vendors in the US and China. When I started this business, I had few experience on how to manufacture my products, but the vendors I worked with were gracious to explain the manufacturing process to me and I learned alot along the way.
I found the right vendors by researching vendors’ biography, work ethics, and quality production. I met few with bad work ethics, but it was a learning experience for me on whom to put my trust.
I learned many lessons about manufacturing specifically mold creation, mass production and most importantly logistics and supply chain.

Any fun sales or marketing stories?
I guess I took a risk marketing when I had to hire a marketing agency who did not understand or believed in my vision. I found myself relying too much on their performance with no results. When I took matter in my own hands, and started putting my vision into words, images, and video for my customers, I get better results. My business’ vision is very unique and innovative, and no other business in the market that has similar products or vision, we are totally a new and unique niche in the beauty industry. It was very hard to find marketing people who would be on the same boat with me and convey my vision to the world. It was a big struggle, but I am slowly trying to maneuver through it.
