We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Sarabeth Wolbrom. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Sarabeth below.
Sarabeth, appreciate you joining us today. So, naming is such a challenge. How did you come up with the name of your brand?
Most photographers use their full names when coming up with their official business names. I decided to put a little spin on it. My name, in general, is hard to pronounce and long, so I thought combining a couple of nicknames, along with a play on my name, would fit the vibe I was going for. This is where “Esbeemo Photography” was born! My first name is Sarabeth, but most people call me SB. However, when I introduce myself as SB, I usually still have to spell it out because folks think I’m saying “ESPY” (like the ESPY awards). “Mo” is an iteration of my maiden name, which is Morofsky. Additionally, “Mo” is a tribute to my dad who passed away during my senior year of college. One of my dad’s nicknames growing up was “Big Mo,” so I thought this would be a unique way to honor him.
With the “bee” part of Esbeemo, I was able to get a little more creative with my logo and photography package names. My logo includes a bee, and all of my wedding/elopement package names are bee-themed! I believe this helps me stand out a little bit and add more personality to my web site.

Sarabeth, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My name is Sarabeth (she/her), and I’m the Colorado Elopement, Wedding, & Lifestyle photographer behind Esbeemo Photography! I currently live in the beautiful city and mountain views of Denver, CO, with my husband, Mike, and dog, Buckets (who’s a TikTok star, by the way). I’m originally from Brooklyn, NY, which makes me a huge bagel and pizza snob. But being a New Yorker also taught me how to appreciate and work with people from all walks of life, which is why I love being a photographer! I pride myself on being a hype person for all my clients and making them feel comfortable during our time together. My style of photography is all about movement and capturing true, authentic moments. I’m a big goofball and love to have fun, no matter what I’m doing, including photo sessions!
I love making my clients feel special and focusing my energy on making our time together awesome. Whether you’re looking to elope on top of a mountain or have an elegant party in the city, I will make sure to be there with you through every moment. I help my clients plan, organize, and provide unlimited resources from the get-go. I also get to know my clients on a deeper level through consultations & questionnaires, so we make sure every moment is customized to them. I’m also well-versed in solving problems and expecting the unexpected so that my clients never have to worry about a thing!

Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
When I first started my photography business, word-of-mouth and social media were huge for me! However, as I found my niche in photography, I’ve learned from my amazing mentor, Megan Macphail of Hazel & Lace Photography, that social media isn’t everything. Google and Search Engine Optimization (SEO) are really powerful tools that you can use to drive people to your website and get more inquiries for your ideal clients. This is why having an informative and transparent website is so important to me. I want my potential clients to know exactly who I am, what I value, and what makes me different from other photographers in the area.

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
As a photographer, I learned pretty quickly that you can’t just have a pretty portfolio and expect to get clients; you have to tell a story. Storytelling is a huge part of being a photographer, and you really have to work at it to get it just right. Whether it’s through my actual photos, a blog post on my website, Instagram captions, a wedding or elopement gallery, or even the e-mails I send to potential clients when they inquire; storytelling is pivotal to a photographer’s success.
I learned this lesson while doing a lot of “free” photo sessions for friends and family when I was first starting out and building my website. I was pretty lost and didn’t have a ton of direction or knowledge on how to build a website or start actually making money. The photographer community, for the most part, is amazing, and a lot of folks are always willing to help and/or provide resources/education to fellow photographers!
