We were lucky to catch up with Sara Sidaros recently and have shared our conversation below.
Sara, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. To kick things off, we’d love to hear about things you or your brand do that diverge from the industry standard.
The standard in our industry has maintained the same for years so my goal was to try and create a better environment for my clients. I always heard people complain that getting their beauty services done was daunting and hectic task for them so I knew my mission had to be to remind them of how tranquil and pampering it can and should be. The industry started out offering these services to relax and disconnect but over the years it lost that integrity and became this chaotic chore that was always rushed and ended with low quality results. I offer private personalized attention to each of my clients using the highest quality nail or skincare products to ensure they not only feel relaxed but they are also glowing as soon as they leave. I’ve had a couple of clients that used to hate getting their nails done now love not only the results but the entire process. You come in and we pamper you from beginning to end every single time.

Sara, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I started out in this industry all thanks to my mother as a teenager. I would constantly watch her work and learn her techniques and knew at some point I would take all of this knowledge into my adulthood whether it was for my own personal care or for others. My first official job was at a spa and I worked there for a few years both on the administrative side and the technician side. Every day I learned new business strategies, new nail techniques and new skincare skills. I studied, continued my education as much as I could and kept up with my craft even when I went off to start a career in politics. As much as I loved my career and what I got my degree in, there was always a little voice telling me to go back to my roots. One day I took the bait and jumped back into it and realized this is what I was meant to do. I’m someone that likes to take care of people and knowing that my services makes people feel good and look good really just inspired me to open my own spa and start my own brand. I started a brand to reinvent the industry standard of getting your nails done, facials, or waxing should not feel like a chore. Your technician should be making you feel comfortable and to trust them to provide the best service for you.
I want readers to know this brand is going to be successful and will continue to grow but will never lose its integrity.
Merakii Beauty Studio is a modern privately owned salon. We specialize in two categories; nails including hand-painted nail art, and skincare with a variety of services; facials, brows, and lashes. What sets us apart is we provide a tranquil space to disconnect and our attention to detail from beginning to end of every service. We take pride in making sure every single one of our clients leaves our salon feeling confident and knowing they will always receive exceptional service from Merakii Beauty Studio.
I am most proud of my knowledge in this industry, the ability I had to start this business on my own but with all appreciation to my mother for teaching me and having her as my mentor.

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
Word of mouth has been the most successful marketing for my business. At least 50% of my clients have been referred to me by friends, family, colleagues and it has been the best experience for my business. I mostly have women clientele so the pattern I see is they rely a lot on reviews and how others have experienced the service so it’s great to see my clients love their experience and preach that to those around them and it brings in a lot of business for me. I have been doing this for 10 years and I have that base of clients so the retention I have with them speaks for itself and it helped me to start my business and gain more clientele as we grew.

What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
Instagram has also been the best source for new clients. People want to see a portfolio of my work and seeing my work all over social media has helped them determine if I am the artist for them. It’s been a great platform to get my brand out there and showcase my work for the audience I need. It displays my art, my retention and before and after results of skin or nails. Social media has been a huge platform for my brand and I plan on using for the rest of business and always encourage people to utilize it to their advantage
