We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Sara Rogers a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Sara thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Looking back, do you think you started your business at the right time? Do you wish you had started sooner or later
No, I am not sorry I began my business when I did, because nothing happens until YOU are ready.
When I started, I was at a turning point in my career—and in my life. I had already put in years of work, learning, growing, and teaching, both onstage and off. I knew the craft. I knew the industry. But most importantly, I knew myself. That made all the difference.
Had I started earlier, I don’t believe I would’ve had the same focus, the same confidence, or the same deep commitment to providing a safe, supportive, and professional space for others to grow. Starting earlier might have meant missing key opportunities, key people, and key moments that shaped my journey.
So no, I wouldn’t change the timing. I began when I was ready—emotionally, spiritually, and professionally. That’s why it worked. And that’s the same energy I pass on to my students: Your timing is your own. Honor it.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I’m a nationally recognized, award-winning Acting Coach who has spent decades helping students of all ages and backgrounds grow into confident, working artists—whether on stage, in front of the camera, behind the mic, or in life itself. I teach Acting for Film and Theatre, Improvisation, Public Speaking, Voice Over, and offer specialized coaching in Monologue and Audition Techniques. I work with both in-person students across South Florida—from Miami to West Palm Beach—as well as online students nationwide and abroad.
My journey into this field began on the stage, but over the years, my calling became clear: I wasn’t just meant to perform—I was meant to teach, guide, and uplift others through their own creative paths. After teaching for others and offering private coaching, I realized the only way to build something lasting and true to my values was to do it myself. I knocked on many doors until I found my home at ArtServe in Fort Lauderdale, where I’ve now been teaching proudly for over 8 years.
I’m proud to say my approach is personal and student-centered. I don’t teach “by the book”—I teach how the individual learns, which creates an environment where people feel safe, supported, and truly seen. Many of my students come to me with creative dreams but also with anxiety, low confidence, or a history of being overlooked. I help them find their voice, claim their space, and build lasting tools for success both in the industry and in everyday life.
What sets my brand apart is my consistency, integrity, and visibility. I BRAND by attending every relevant local film or theatre event I can—whether it’s hosted by producers, actors, friends, or local organizations. I show up, I stay engaged, and I let people know I’m here. I also keep my photo, logo, and message consistent across all platforms—so my presence is clear, professional, and easy to recognize.
The classes I offer go beyond acting. I work with corporate teams on public speaking, teach seniors how to reconnect through improvisation, help working actors stay sharp with self-submitted scenes, and provide real-world industry knowledge to beginners. My workshops are inclusive and filled with laughter, learning, and moments of personal breakthrough. Whether it’s an audition, a story, a camera class, or just learning to trust your own voice again—we do the work, and we have fun doing it.
If there’s one thing I want people to know, it’s that I believe in the power of transformation through the arts. And I’ve seen it happen—over and over again.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
Yes, my resilience showed up after years of teaching for others, giving private lessons, and working as an SAG-AFTRA actor, and still being an acting coach. When my last “job” ended and the doors closed, I found myself at a crossroads. But I didn’t stop—I knocked on many, many doors before I found one that opened.
That door turned out to be ArtServe in Ft. Lauderdale, and it became the place I could finally call home for my work. I built something real there—a safe, creative, and professional environment for students to grow.
On May 1, 2025, I celebrated my 8-year anniversary at ArtServe. That milestone is a reminder of the strength it took to keep going, even when things were uncertain. Resilience isn’t just about bouncing back—it’s about refusing to give up until you land where you’re meant to be.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
I built my brand and reputation through honesty, integrity, and a deep respect for how each student learns. I don’t teach from a cookie-cutter book or a one-size-fits-all method—I teach people. Real individuals with different styles, rhythms, and needs.
What sets me apart is that I meet each student where they are. Whether we’re working on camera, stage, voice, or confidence, it’s always about how the person learns, not just what they’re learning. That personal, respectful approach has earned trust—and trust is the foundation of my reputation.
