We recently connected with Sara Borgstede and have shared our conversation below.
Sara, appreciate you joining us today. Being a business owner can be really hard sometimes. It’s rewarding, but most business owners we’ve spoken sometimes think about what it would have been like to have had a regular job instead. Have you ever wondered that yourself? Maybe you can talk to us about a time when you felt this way?
Last year, my business saw tremendous growth. This was incredibly exciting but also overwhelming. I started the process of hiring additional help and dove into meeting my customer’s needs. I felt like every day was high-level, with onboarding, training, creating systems, and more.
There were days when I thought this was all too overwhelming. It’s ironic that during the height of my greatest success is the time when I questioned if running my own business was worth it.
As entrepreneurs, we are responsible for every decision, all the details, and figuring out how to make things happen. As if the big-picture decisions aren’t tough enough, all the little tasks still need to get done, too.
Even though it’s challenging, I love what I do and wouldn’t trade it for the world.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
Our business is fully digital, offering resources, support, advice, and encouragement for women on their spiritual and healthy living journey. We’ve found excellent success by offering free printable resources as an opt-in, and then nurturing relationships with a high-quality email sequence. After trust is built, then we offer products in a variety of price points, like meal plans, cookbooks, and 30-day online weight loss challenges.
Any fun sales or marketing stories?
Interestingly, my most successful product sat on my website for years, largely untouched, until a magazine editor reached to me inquiring about it’s success rates. I had a 3-day meal plan on my website that was marketed to a specific audience. I knew it was a high-quality plan, but I had no idea the rates of success my clients would experience. Because the editor suggested it, I created a test group and led them through using the plan. The members of that group were interviewed and the meal plan was featured in the magazine. Since then, that has become my most popular product and its sales have completely changed the trajectory of my business.
