Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Sanyukti Parab. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Sanyukti, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
I started drawing when I was three. I was a playful kid who loved spending time outdoors. In third grade, I made my first craft project, a “best out of waste” project. It was an art organizer that looked like a McDonald’s meal, yes, I made a paper mache burger and french fries that could hold my pencils and crayons. That project sparked my obsession to create fun things. I loved making things from scratch, whether it was accessories for my barbie, board games, books from scrap paper, or toys I could play with.
As I grew up, my aspirations kept evolving. At different points, I dreamed of being an artist, a shoe designer, an event planner, a jewelry designer, or an art teacher. I was always a visual learner and I knew I’m driven to create art or make things functional for something, for someone. Soon, I realized that it was never just a mere hobby. I started asking deeper questions: Why do things look the way they do? Why do people like certain designs? How do they choose a brand, product, or service? How do colors, words, and visuals influence their perceptions?
These questions and the endless curiosity to understand human behavior and the artistic or functional appeal of anything we see around us, led me to pursue design. I wanted to understand the “why” behind it all. The more I read and observed, I started finding answers and this realization was when I was thirteen and it was a turning point for me. It felt like everything I loved growing up had prepared me for this. I knew I belonged in the world of art and storytelling.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Hi, I’m Sanyukti, from India, currently living in my dream city, NYC! I’m an art director and creative strategist who loves turning ideas into meaningful stories. Over the years, my passion to create has grown into a way for me to connect with people and understand the world around me.
I studied Creative Education during my undergraduate studies in the field of design, which helped me understand how design can be used to solve real life problems through different mediums by creating meaningful experiences. Recently, I completed my Master’s in Advertising at SCAD, where I got to work on some incredible projects, create an award-winning campaign, collaborate with real clients, and even teach social strategy during the summer. These experiences taught me so much about creativity, collaboration, and the importance of trying everything that comes your way!
As a freelancer, for me, every project is personal. I always try to find a connection to the work because it helps me see things from the client’s perspective and make something that feels authentic and impactful. My goal is to create work that audiences can see themselves in, whether it’s through a campaign, a brand story, or a simple design.
What makes my approach unique is that I prioritize understanding people first. Trends are great, but knowing what truly matters to your audience is where the magic happens. I want the people and brands I work with to feel seen, heard, and proud of the story we create together.
One of the things I’m most proud of is how adaptable I’ve become over the years. I approach every project with an open mind and the same level of care. I believe creativity is about constantly learning and growing, and I’m always excited to take on new challenges.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
For me, the most rewarding part of being creative isn’t just one singular moment but it’s the entire journey of creation. Taking a simple thought, an idea, or a visual spark and nurturing it into something tangible and meaningful is what makes it all so rewarding. There’s an incredible sense of fulfillment in building something that you can be proud of and then sharing it with others, knowing it might evoke a feeling, spark a connection, or leave a lasting impression.
What I love most is the freedom to explore and adapt throughout the process. Every project, brand, or collaboration brings something new, and being able to shapeshift creatively to meet those needs keeps me inspired and in love with what I do.
For me, being an artist is a privilege and a constant source of joy, it’s a way of life that never stops giving back.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
My goal is simple: to create work that makes people feel something, joy, connection, or even a little spark of inspiration. At my core, I value honesty, empathy, courage, and collaboration. I believe change is constant, and adaptability is what helps us grow. Like a sponge, I absorb the lessons from every experience and use them to fuel my passion for helping others. These values drive my creative journey. Ultimately, I want to contribute to the community in meaningful ways, using my creative energy to make life easier, happier, and more connected for others and be able to find joy in the mundane.
