We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Sanya Kapoor. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Sanya below.
Hi Sanya, thanks for joining us today. We’d love to hear about the things you feel your parents did right and how those things have impacted your career and life.
My parents have been my greatest source of motivation and support. They have always taught me to give my best in any situation, regardless of the outcome. I learned this valuable lesson from my father, a businessman, who instilled in me the importance of perseverance and maintaining a balanced perspective on success and failure. My mother, on the other hand, taught me to stay positive and be grateful in all circumstances.
Let me share a small incident from my school days: I fell severely ill just before my board examinations. At that time, I nearly gave up hope of performing well. However, it was my parents who motivated and guided me towards positivity. With their support, I managed to muster the strength to give my best effort in a short period of time, and surprisingly, I performed even better than expected.
Through experiences like these, my parents have molded me to understand the value of hard work and resilience. They have taught me never to give up and always strive to do my best.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
“I am Sanya Kapoor, residing in New Delhi, India. I am 21 years old and pursuing my graduation from the University of Delhi. For a long time, I have been interested in the business world, and I was keen on joining my father’s venture. However, as we grow up, our choices and opinions change, and so did mine. After gaining insight into various fields, I decided to start something of my own. With a keen interest in the marketing field, I pursued a year-long digital marketing course, completing it successfully.
During that period, I got acquainted with various aspects of marketing in the digital arena. Designing logos, content, websites, etc., interested me the most, so I decided to focus solely on that. I provide my clients with logos, content ideas, invitation designs, and solutions to marketing-related problems. I am most proud of how my designs fulfill my clients’ needs and how I bring their vision into reality. If a client isn’t satisfied, I ensure to make changes until they’re happy because ultimately, their happiness is what makes our efforts worthwhile.”
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
One important lesson I had to reevaluate was my tendency to always say yes to others, even when it wasn’t in my best interest. Being a lifelong people-pleaser, saying no was a challenge for me. The fear of disappointing others weighed heavily on me. However, over time, this pattern began to take a toll on my mental well-being, prompting a turning point in my mindset. Recognizing the need for change, I embarked on the journey of unlearning the habit of always saying yes and embracing the power of no, especially when it came to my own welfare.
Admittedly, this transition wasn’t easy, but with the unwavering support of my closest friends, I gained clarity on its necessity. Mastering the art of saying no has since empowered me and brought joy into my life. To anyone experiencing similar struggles, I encourage you to prioritize your own needs and begin asserting boundaries. Release yourself from the burden of guilt, for your mental health deserves utmost care and attention.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The most fulfilling aspect of being a creative artist lies in the capacity to express oneself genuinely and establish profound emotional connections with others through artistic endeavors. Engaging in art enables individuals to delve into their innermost thoughts, emotions, and experiences, sharing them with the world in a distinctive and meaningful manner. Observing the impact of one’s art on others, whether it elicits joy, inspiration, contemplation, or empathy, offers profound satisfaction. Moreover, the process of transforming abstract ideas into tangible artistic creations fosters a sense of achievement and pride. Ultimately, the liberty to create and the opportunity to touch people’s lives through art encapsulates the true essence of being a creative artist.
