Alright, Santiago thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Do you manage your own social media?
Since we started with “Guía de Compras Orlando” we have always managed our website, social networks, YouTube Channel, etc. We have never hired anyone to do it, although at times it takes a lot of work and dedication. It was not a conscious decision, but we have preferred to have direct contact with our followers, because that’s what our project is all about, sharing our experiences with the people who are part of the “Guia de Compras Orando” community.
If we were to give advice to someone who is just starting out in this, or who has been at it for a while and has to make decisions about how to manage their social networks, we would tell them to think about how they would like to be responded to if they were on the other side of the messages.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
We are Argentinians living in Spain and huge fans of traveling and especially to Orlando. We visit this amazing city every year since 2011 and we went there for the first time in 1998. We love Orlando, the theme parks, and spending our vacations with our family there.
In 2015 we wanted to start doing something online about our favorite place to visit and decided to start writing about shopping in Orlando. At that time, we were the first Spanish-speaking exclusive dedicated website to write and advise about shopping in Orlando. This year we launched Guía de Compras Orlando website (www.guiadecomprasorlando.com), the number one Spanish-speaking blog specializing in shopping tips and information about Orlando, Florida.
Our aim is to provide full information about how to organize and take the biggest advantage of doing shopping in Orlando.
We are Shoppers, and we love shopping in Orlando! Many years of experience as regular shoppers, gave us the expertise to give the best advice, help to organize, and get the best discounts and tips to our readers and followers.
We’re constantly in touch with our readers. We always research all the possible options to be updated with the last Sales, Coupons, Clearances, and best places to buy anything in Orlando.
We give personalized advice on the best places for each interest.
Throughout these 8 years, we developed a website (visited by over 2.300.000 people), blog, YouTube Channel, Twitter, Facebook Page (+38.000 fans) and Group (+29.000 active members), Instagram, and a large email community. We helped hundreds of thousands of people on their trip to Orlando making them save a lot of money and have lots of fun. We have also been organizing vacations to Orlando as official agents for a few years now. Through our website www.tuviajeaorlando.com we give advice, tips, advice and information about this wonderful destination that is Orlando.
We love to help and interact whit our followers and we want to continue with this adventure for more and more years!
How did you build your audience on social media?
It was not easy to get here. In the beginning, there were many sleepless nights to create the content that today has our website. We have spent hundreds of hours researching, experimenting, and testing all the tips we give to our followers. We had to insist a lot at the beginning so that the main stores and shopping malls would pay attention to us, but it was worth it.
The first challenge we had was to make ourselves known in the forums where people talked about Orlando, Shopping, theme parks, etc. That was where we had to go if we wanted to be known. In the beginning, we actively participated in the forums, sharing our content if we had the opportunity. That’s how we became known until other people started to share our content, and it went viral within this audience.
Many trips later, created content and above all the seriousness with which we take our work, was creating confidence in our followers, and arousing interest in major malls and shopping malls in the area to collaborate with us. This made our brand generate trust and confidence in our followers.
This enormous effort led us to become number one in our field.
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
We believe that consistency, reliability, and respect were the main values that built our reputation. A lot of people try to take advantage of one-off opportunities from fads and trends to reach the public, but when people see that there are options that have been around for years, that has always been reliable, and that continue with a similar and consistent line of work, that conveys security and creates a positive reputation. This does not detract from the fact that we must constantly strive to sustain this reputation, and even fight to increase it in order to grow.
