Sandy, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
Who are Sandy and Samantha Brantley? Top producers in their social selling company, Sandy and Samantha learned how to work outside the box. A former executive with a fortune 50 company, Sandy had no interest in direct sales. Sandy decided to join one at the plea of her then 16 year old daughter Samantha. Samantha spent years suffering the effects of cruel bullying. Seeing it as a way to help her daughter find success and gain confidence, Sandy jumped in with both feet. Soon she realized she could use business and business strategies to help her learn all the things she would need to become a thriving young adult. Now she shares all she learned with parents, schools systems, child professionals and companies interested in creating a stronger young work force.. How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
I remember our very first business event. I was busy answering questions and helping clients. I looked over to see my daughter sitting in a corner reading a book. I’d love to say I was kind, but I leaned down close to her ear and said,”get your butt up and help someone.” The next words out of her mouth changed everything for us. She said “I don’t know what to do!” I was a little stunned and angry at first. Over the next few days, those words rang in my ears. I finally realized she wasn’t being rude. She was telling me the truth. I realized many of the skills I take for granted and learned through a lifetime of experience, she had not had the opportunity to learn. I backed up, came up with a plan to ease her into each skill one at a time. I also realized I could teach her so much more than just how to run this business. I could teach her life-skills that would follow her where ever she went in the future..
