We were lucky to catch up with Sandralin Cue recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, SandraLin thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Before we get into specifics, let’s talk about success more generally. What do you think it takes to be successful?
Showing up. I think showing up everyday and pushing yourself is what it takes to be successful. Working harder than you did the day before. The person I am competing with the most, is myself. I want to be better than I was the day before.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
My name is Sandra Lin and I own a Tattoo shop in Colorado. I am the head tattoo artist and have 4 other female identifying tattoo artists and a Reiki master teacher that make up the Disruptive Ink team! My wife and I opened the shop in 2018 where I was a solo artist. We had to shut the studio down in 2020 because of Covid. Instead of opening another private studio, we set out to create a safe and inclusive space for clients and artists. We wanted to cultivate a culture that would allow artists to grow and inspire others! We have now been open and thriving ever since!
I love to create beautiful pieces of art on my clients everyday. My sister n law told me once that if there is a part of your body that you don’t love, then put a tattoo on it. So my entire purpose in life now is to help women reclaim parts of their body and recognize how beautiful they are inside and out! I am trauma informed and take my time to help my clients heal internal and external scars through art.
Can you tell us the story behind how you met your business partner?
So my business partner is my partner in every aspect of my life. My best friend introduced us 8 years ago. We got married just last year!
She is the one person in my world that matches me and we push each other.
She inspires me everyday and we balance one another perfectly.
Any thoughts, advice, or strategies you can share for fostering brand loyalty?
I love the relationships that I have cultivated with my clients. These people spend hours in a chair with me, telling me stories of their lives. I get to know their families and their kids. It’s about creating an entire experience for them, not just beautiful art. I have clients reach out just to get some therapy time in! I am always here for it.
You want to be able to laugh and cry with your client, we’re all on a healing journey.
