We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Sandra Rodriguez Bicknell a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Sandra, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. So, one thing many business owners consider is donating a percentage of sales or profits to an organization or cause. We’d love to hear your thoughts and the story behind how and why you chose the cause or organization you donate to.
At Soulfully Aligned Publishing, we are dedicated to infusing conscious principles into every aspect of our business operations.
Our primary aim is to support you in sharing your message with the world and realizing your lifelong dream in the process.
Unlike traditional publishing models driven solely by profit, our focus is on creating books that make a meaningful impact. Instead of distributing proceeds among co-authors, we channel all book earnings directly to a charity selected collectively. This approach reflects our commitment to fostering a karmic exchange and energy within Soulfully Aligned Publishing.
Through our books, we have the remarkable opportunity to effect change both through our stories and the financial support they generate. By directing proceeds to organizations in need of growth and attention, rather than established charities with consistent donations, we maximize our potential to catalyze positive transformation.
At Soulfully Aligned Publishing, we believe in leveraging the power of storytelling and giving back to create a profound ripple effect of change in the world.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
At 50, I reached a pivotal moment where I couldn’t ignore the urge to share my life’s journey through writing. My experiences, filled with highs and lows, compelled me to pen ‘Cuts of A Diamond,’ a book centered around themes of love, forgiveness, and the universal human experience. This profound journey ignited a passion within me to assist others in sharing their own narratives. I am dedicated to guiding individuals through the process of writing and publishing, empowering them to craft impactful stories that resonate with others. I firmly believe that everyone possesses a unique story worth sharing, and I am committed to supporting coaches, facilitators, and service professionals in leveraging their stories to build their legacies, expand their businesses, and establish themselves as authoritative figures in their respective fields
Have you ever had to pivot?
Shortly after writing my book I embarking on my book writing business journey, I knew it was time to expand. So, I enlisted the help of a business coach. As we were making strides in crafting funnels and marketing strategies, the pandemic hit, shaking things up, especially within the holistic community.
In the midst of chaos, the crisis sparked a personal revelation for me – a desire to serve others. Immersed in learning about online business, I saw an opportunity to pivot. Leveraging my expertise, I developed an ebook writing program tailored for healers and facilitators, helping them grow their audience and support their communities during uncertain times.
Taking this leap was daunting, but incredibly fulfilling, marking a pivotal moment where passion and purpose aligned and Soulfully aligned Publishing was birthed.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
I used to dislike social media. I thought it was all about showing off. This was way back before it became a place to share real information, like passions and expertise. But even after it changed, I still found it hard to talk about my business there. Mixing the personal and professional sides felt awkward.
Then, after writing my book, something clicked. I had so much to say! It was like I found my voice in the process. I realized that when I shared the parts of me that made people feel less alone, that’s when things really clicked. So, I started opening up about my journey, sharing the ups and downs.
Turns out, people resonated with that honesty. They liked seeing the real stuff, not just the highlights reel. So, my advice to anyone starting on social media: be yourself. Share your story, your passions, even your struggles. People appreciate authenticity above all.
