We were lucky to catch up with Sandra Northrup recently and have shared our conversation below.

Sandra, appreciate you joining us today. How did you come up with the idea for your business?

Twenty-one years ago, I made the decision to resign from my job in the aviation industry to become a full-time stay-at-home mom. That chapter of my life was incredibly busy, deeply rewarding, and full of excitement. I homeschooled my children and spent years cheering them on at countless sports competitions, performances, and recitals. It was a beautiful season, and I poured my heart into raising my family.

As my children grew older and more independent, I started to explore ways I could contribute financially while still being present in their lives. I tried a few remote jobs, but nothing truly lit a fire in me. Still, I kept searching.

If there’s one thing that’s always been true about me, it’s that I’m meticulous—some might say obsessive—about cleanliness. My family lovingly teases me and calls me “OCD,” and I’ll admit, my standards have definitely driven them a little crazy at times. But then it hit me: Why not take this passion and turn it into something more?

I prayed about it, and the Lord gave me a name—Revelation.

Even after that confirmation, I didn’t jump in right away. I continued serving my family, supporting my kids, and even made a return to the aviation field. But the dream of starting my own business never left my heart. Eventually, I took a leap of faith. I ordered business cards, registered my company, and began investing in the tools and supplies I needed to launch my cleaning business.

Then, one day, a friend reached out and asked if I knew anyone who could manage her second home. Without hesitation, I told her I had started my own cleaning business. She didn’t blink—she scheduled an appointment right away. Within a week, she became my very first client.

And just like that, Revelation Cleaning was born.

Hello my name is Sandra Northrup, founder of Revelation Cleaning- a faith – rooted cleaning company built on care, integrity, and love for creating peaceful, organized spaces for my clients. About twenty two years ago I decided to be a stay – at – home mom. i homeschooled, cheered from the bleachers, sidelines, and poured my heart into my family. However, as the seasons changed and my kids grew, I felt it was time seized that opportunity. Anyone who knows me knows that I’ve always had a passion for cleanliness and order. What started out as a personal trait and gift has turned into something more: a blessing for helping others find comfort, tranquility and clarity through a clean spaces.
Today, I serve families, homeowners with high quality environmentally clean products in their homes; cleaning services that honor both their space and trust.
The thing that I nam most proud of is the smile and joy that my clients expressed to me, it reinforces that to do every job with excellence no matter how big or small-respecting privacy, and always showing up with a servant’s heart.

What’s been the best source of new clients for you?

As a personal and faith-rooted brand, Revelation Cleaning has grown primarily through the power of word of mouth. My best referrals have come from satisfied clients who felt seen, cared for, and valued—and then shared their experience with family, friends, or neighbors.

While I don’t always post every project online, that’s by intention. Out of respect for my clients’ privacy, I always seek their permission before sharing before-and-after photos or testimonials. This trust is something I take seriously, and it’s one of the core values that sets Revelation apart.
