We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Sandina Dominique a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Sandina, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Do you think folks should manage their own social media or hire a professional? What do you do?
I manage my own.
Sandina, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My name is Sandina Dominique, I was born and raised in Haiti, But I have been living in the US for the past 8 years. I have always been passionate about helping others find and fulfill their purposes in life. For the past 3 years, I have taken my public relations and advertising experience to help womenpreneurs exploit social media to connect with their ideal clients, grow their business, and amplify their online presence.
As a part of my mission of helping and empowering underprivileged and underserved youth in Haiti, I founded my non-profit organization Hope and Happiness Community Empowerment Inc where I serve as the President. My goal in life is to make meaningful impacts within my surrounding community and Haiti.
In an effort to continue to serve my community, in 2021 I launched my business Jardin Romantique. Where we provide romantic decorations for couples, families, and friends. The purpose is to help people romanticize their lives. We spend so much time waiting for others to romance us when we could do it ourselves.
I am most proud of my resilience and passion. One thing I want people to know is that I take pride in my integrity and always strive for the best.
What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
The best source of new clients for me has been word of mouth. I think we have gotten to a point where we underestimate word of mouth marketing. I believe it’s because we have forgotten the power of exceptional service. My model is to create fans and that is in the forefront of my businesses.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
When I started my journey, I had no idea what it would turn into. There were days where I felt like I was not good enough or I wasn’t’ worthy. Sometimes, it feels like maybe the entrepreneur thing is not for me, but through it all I persevere, always. Coming from a country where the way of life is so different, having to learn the language, the culture and make this new place a home have been one of the most challenging experiences of my life. Nonetheless, I always allow try to focus more on the journey and enjoy every part of it.
