We were lucky to catch up with Sandi Johnson-Boyds recently and have shared our conversation below.
Sandi, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
As a licensed mental health professional, my mission is to assist women in transforming into individuals who are enthusiastic about life. My role involves helping them clarify their narratives, embrace their journey of purpose, and cultivate a life that they are proud to share with others, while also fostering genuine connections where they feel seen, heard, and understood. This is achieved by providing individual and group counseling, coaching, transformative speaking, writing books, hosting the My Story, My Journey Retreats, and facilitating EnVision Board Experiences.
As a woman who once lost my direction and sense of purpose while deeply involved in motherhood, this holds great significance. Watching my peers transition to the empty nest stage, I see many struggling to embrace this new chapter in their lives fully. I aim for women to transition from an empty nest to an exciting next.
Sandi, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
Resilience has always been my close companion while navigating single parenthood, tending to my children, and leveling creativity to managing financial obligations. After hosting a bridal shower and feeling drained, I yearned for some rest. To take a breather, I picked up my ten-year-old nephew to look after my kids for this much-needed nap. During my nap, chaos erupted in the kitchen – a fully blown spaghetti war had erupted. It was strewn everywhere! There were noodles, sauce, cold ground beef, bell pepper, onion and cheese all over the kitchen, dining room, basement stair, and basement. As I snatcher off tomato sauce-filled clothes and throw them in the bathtub, exhausted, I built endures and grit. Despite feeling exhausted, I had to confront the messy aftermath. Tidying up the spaghetti mayhem taught me the importance of persistence and resolve. Just like in business, facing challenges with a solid strategy and determination can lead to success. It taught me that resilience is your whyor mission being larger than the current huddle you are facing.
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
One valuable lesson I had to relearn that was holding back my business was how I dealt with rejection throughout my life. Since childhood, I encountered rejection in my community and always felt like an outsider. Growing up in inner-city Detroit, where I wasn’t fashion-forward and didn’t follow the latest trends like expensive gyme shoes but preferred my little $6 Kmart white shoes, I simply didn’t conform. My mindset was unconventional and innovative. Rejection led me to build barriers and avoid situations where I felt like I didn’t belong, causing me to retreat and not embrace my talents. However, when I realized that I wasn’t meant to blend in and follow the crowd, but to stand out as a catalyst for change and a transformative force, everything shifted.
