We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Sanah Tharadra : Founder Joanna Maczuga: Co-Founder a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Sanah Tharadra : Founder , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Alright – so having the idea is one thing, but going from idea to execution is where countless people drop the ball. Can you talk to us about your journey from idea to execution?
I lived in New York for 5 years prior to moving to Miami. As many people know, New York is the hub of all cuisines and cultures. That’s when I found my passion for food and finding the best eats all over the city. I have been very fortunate to eat at some of the best restaurants. My husband is also a major foodie and I give him credit for introducing me to a wide variety of different cuisines. We come from a family where our mothers are amazing cooks. So good tasting food has always been in my blood growing up. Having a palate that has been exposed to different spices and herbs is something that has made me a true foodie, and for that I am grateful.
When I moved to Miami in 2016, I would research and try different restaurants every week. My husband and I would check Yelp and Google for just about anything we would be craving. We noticed that there wasn’t that much of a variety and even if there was, no one knew about it. So one day during our Covid quarantine days, I decided I would make a new account and slowly post all my dining pictures, tagging the restaurants.
Slowly my Instagram community started to grow. That’s when I had my best friend Joanna join and help manage my account. After 7 months, we had about 8,000 followers. Then, over the course of 5 month we grew our community even more, finally reaching 10k followers. That was an awesome milestone! We had started putting a lot of time and energy into growing our community.
Our goal in the end is to make our clients happy with our work. We strive to take the best photos and want to bring business to these restaurants. That’s what keeps us going.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
How’d you meet your business partner?
Luckily enough for me, my business partner is my best friend. We are a package deal, we shoot and edit everything together. We both just get each other and have the same vision.
We have known each other since middle school and both moved to Miami with our families only 2 weeks apart. We both have kids the same age and now our kids are best friends. Also, we live in the same town! It’s pretty much the best scenario if you ask us. We thank our husbands for making this happen!
