We recently connected with Samyah Green and have shared our conversation below.
Samyah, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What do you think matters most in terms of achieving success?
I think success isn’t about how much money you make or how many followers you have—it’s about alignment, impact, and fulfillment. To me, success means living a life that reflects my values, staying true to who I am, and creating a positive impact on the people around me—especially my family and my community. Success is knowing that I’m walking in my purpose and honoring the gifts God gave me, even when the path isn’t always clear.
I learned this lesson the hard way after becoming a mom. There was a period when I felt like I had completely lost myself—between the demands of motherhood, marriage, and just trying to keep up with life, I felt overwhelmed and disconnected from who I was. I remember praying for clarity and asking God to help me find balance. Slowly but surely, I realized that success wasn’t about doing everything perfectly—it was about creating a life where my faith, my family, and my peace came first.
That shift in perspective helped me rediscover myself and inspired the content I create now. I started sharing the real, unfiltered side of mom life—the funny moments, the hard days, and the small wins—because I knew other moms needed to feel seen too. The fact that I get to connect with other moms and help them feel less alone? That’s what success is to me.
I believe true success comes when you stop chasing perfection and start embracing purpose. When you align your life with your values, trust God’s plan, and commit to showing up as your authentic self, success becomes less about outcomes and more about impact. That’s the kind of success I’m working toward every day.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Hello! I’m Samyah Green. I’m a wife, mom of two (Jr and Lia), and a Jill of all trades. I’m a content creator, real estate agent, and full-time working mom who’s always looking for new ways to create more streams of income for my family. Life is very busy in the green household , but I’ve learned how to balance it all while staying true to myself—and that’s exactly what I share with my audience.
My journey into content creation started when I became a mom and realized how overwhelming and isolating motherhood could be. Between raising two toddlers, maintaining a strong marriage, and trying to find time for myself, I felt like I was constantly being pulled in every direction. So, I started sharing my experiences online and hopping on trends to laugh during times I wanted to cry as a way to connect with other moms who were going through the same thing. The response was incredible. Moms were reaching out saying they felt seen and understood and asking questions and advice, and that’s when I realized I had started to build something meaningful.
Now, I create content centered around motherhood, self-care, family life, and everything in between. I’m very passionate about showing the real side of mom life; the good, the messy, and the hilarious. From wash day routines and self-care tips to honest conversations about marriage and parenting, and being busy, my content resonates with millennial moms who are trying to find balance and joy in their everyday lives.
What sets me apart is my authenticity. I’m not trying to present a picture-perfect version of motherhood or marriage. I share the real moments—the triumphs, the struggles, and everything in between—because I know how powerful it is for moms to feel seen and supported. My audience knows they can come to me for honest, relatable content that makes them feel less alone.
I’m incredibly proud of the community I’ve built. When a mom messages me to say that my content helped her feel more confident or less alone, that’s success to me. At this point, it’s not about any of the vanity metrics or the numbers—it’s about creating a space where other moms feel seen, supported and inspired.
At the end of the day, I want to be known for creating content that’s honest, uplifting, and real. I want moms to know that they can thrive in motherhood without losing themselves in the process—and that it’s okay to ask for help, take a break, and create a life that feels balanced and fulfilling.
How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
Yea, so when I first started creating content, I focused mostly on sharing cute mom moments and day-to-day family life—the highlight reel type of content. It was fun, but over time, I started to feel disconnected from my audience and even from myself. I realized I was holding back from sharing the real side of mom life—the messy, overwhelming, and not-so-glamorous moments—because I thought people only wanted to see the pretty side.
The pivot happened when I posted a reel about feeling overwhelmed as a mom and admitting that I was struggling to balance everything. The response was overwhelming—my DMs were flooded with other moms saying, “Wow, I thought I was the only one feeling this way.” That’s when it clicked for me: moms didn’t need to see perfection—they needed to feel seen and understood.
That shift completely changed how I approach content. I started sharing more of the raw, unfiltered moments—like when my kids are having meltdowns in Target, or when I’m sneaking into the pantry for two minutes of peace. I leaned into the idea of creating content that feels like a FaceTime call with your best friend—honest, funny, and real. And honestly, that’s when my content started to really resonate. Engagement went up, and I built a stronger connection with my audience because they could finally see themselves in my content.
Pivoting toward authenticity and vulnerability was scary at first, but it taught me that success in content creation isn’t about being perfect—it’s about being real. Now, my audience trusts me because they know I’m not just curating a perfect life—I’m showing them the real, beautiful chaos of motherhood. That shift made my content more meaningful, and it’s the reason I’ve been able to build such a strong, engaged community today.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
Yea absolutely, so I built my audience on social media by being real and consistent. When I first started, I was just sharing cute family moments and highlights from my life as a mom, but I wasn’t really connecting with my audience on a deeper level. The shift happened when I stopped trying to make everything look perfect and started sharing the real, unfiltered side of motherhood.
I remember posting a video about feeling overwhelmed as a mom—juggling two toddlers, a full-time job, and trying to keep my marriage strong. I was nervous to put that out there because it wasn’t “pretty” content, but the response blew me away. Moms flooded my DMs saying things like, “Thank you for saying this out loud—I feel the exact same way.” That’s when I realized that people weren’t looking for perfection—they were looking for authenticity.
From that point on, I leaned into creating content that felt like a FaceTime call with a best friend. I shared the good, the chaotic, and the funny sides of mom life. I talked about mom guilt, self-care, marriage struggles, and the wins too. I showed up consistently, engaged with my audience, and made sure they felt seen and heard. Over time, that built a real connection with my audience, and that’s when my platform started to grow.
Advice for Anyone Just Starting Out:
Be real, not perfect. – People don’t connect with perfection; they connect with authenticity. If you’re trying to curate the perfect feed or only showing the highlights, it’s going to be hard to build a loyal audience from my experience. Let people see the real you, I promise they will love you.
Engage with your audience. – It’s not enough to just post and walk away. Reply to comments, answer DMs, and have conversations with your audience. When people feel seen, they’re more likely to stick around.
Be consistent, but give yourself grace. – Consistency is important, but so is balance. Don’t burn yourself out trying to keep up with every trend or anyone else’s posting schedule. Find a rhythm that works for you and stick with it.
Find your voice and lean into it. – Don’t try to copy someone else’s style. Figure out what makes you unique—whether it’s your humor, your storytelling, or your vibe—and double down on that. Your audience will connect with YOU, not a version of someone else.
Don’t be afraid to pivot. – If something isn’t working or doesn’t feel authentic anymore, it’s okay to shift gears. The right audience will follow you when you stay true to yourself.
Building an audience takes time, but the key is to focus on building a community rather than just followers. When you show up authentically and create content that resonates, the right people will find you—and they’ll stick around.
