Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Samuel Goodson. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Samuel, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Let’s jump to the end – what do you want to be remembered for?
I want to be known as someone that looked out for those around them. Being famous or well known has never been something I wanted because remaining humble is what will lead to longevity in my success. No matter how successful I become I always will remember where I came from and help others elevate as well.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I received my first camera while I was a sophomore in high school and began with taking pictures at events my mother would decorate for. I took a break from it up until the pandemic in which I began to watch YouTube videos to learn the ins and outs about cameras and the photography business. I currently offer photography for portraits and events while hoping to add sports to my services. I am most proud of the growth in my skill and my ability to not give up when there is a drought in clientele. I enjoy first time photoshoot experiences because of the reaction to my clients seeing themselves in their best representation of themselves. It takes a lot of discipline and practice to be a successful photographer as it is not simply clicking a button but knowing what each function does while being able to adapt to your environment.
Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
Having a good social media presence has been one of the best ways for me to grow clientele. It’s almost impossible to reach your max clientele potential without being on social media because it allows you to share your services, create relatable content, and even teach others about the industry or how they can join.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
The most important thing is to find your niche and what industry audience you are aiming at. Once you figure that out it’s all about creating relatable content that can be educational and showcasing quality work to show potential clients what they can look forward to receiving. Interacting with your followers, answering questions, and even giveaways are all great ways to build a community through social media.
