Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Samuel Gomez. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Samuel, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What did your parents do right and how has that impacted you in your life and career?
Growing up I would always see my parents get up early and come home late from work. As a kid you don’t realize the reasons why. One of the things I learned from my parents was to be a hard worker and to always give it your all. My mom always would tell me “if you’re going to do something, do it right, if not don’t do it at all” and that stuck with me. They also taught me to be myself and to stand up for what was right. My dad was not one to give verbal lessons but his actions were the ones that would speak for him. The biggest lesson I learned from my dad was that it is never too late to change, I see it as growth. I Carry their lessons with me every day and they are part of the reason I’m doing what I love.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers?
I am a full time Photographer/Videographer/creator and business partner for a social media company. I’ve been a technician for many companies and many types of jobs, a home appliance repair tech, water restoration tech, mold remediation tech, alarm system installer, cable installer, and a plumber, But I never felt fulfilled in any of them. I knew there was more to me than what I was doing in my 9-5. I picked up a camera to document my trips with my wife and started to grow a passion for photography. Learning everything I could on my spare time and going out on the weekends to practice my craft. I want to Partner up with traveling companies to bring awareness to their city with photo and video and help them grow. as well as any traveling tourism boards.
I was able to make the transition to full time In 2021 when I met my business partner and he knew Real Estate Media he taught me everything about it and with my determination I quit my 9-5 and I partnered up along with him and his wife we run a successful social media company. We specialize in short form and long form content for any business that’s trying to make a presences online and to bring awareness to their brand. We started in the real estate space and now transitioning over to other businesses.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
Leaving a “stable” job to pursue my goals and dreams was a difficult decision specially with a wife and a baby. Taking a pay-cut was not an ideal thing to do for most people. From my family and friends looking and thinking of me a bit differently. I knew that with my dedication and determination it was all going to be ok.
We’d love to hear about how’d you met your business partner?
I met Bobby (Owner of Coronado Media) on Instagram, I sent him a DM and we met up for a sunrise photoshoot with other creators and not many words were exchanged that day. I was a plumber at the time and didn’t have time other than the weekends to do photoshoots. But I knew he was determined to grow his business. A couple of days later he had posted that he was looking for a Photographer to help him on his listings. After we met again we spoke and he saw potential in me and me in him, I told him I would be all in if he would. After some time we got to know each other and he made me partner.
