We recently connected with Samuel Brock Flynn and have shared our conversation below.
Samuel Brock, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.
Well , I got my idea in Photography and Web Design a long time ago ,
It all started in 2017, when I worked for a production company in Crossville ,TN that was just Web Design work for the company “Free Sci Mountain Productions”; at the Time I went to school for Web Design through Alison.com (which I graduated with a Diploma in Web Design in 2017.) however , It did not last long . I decided to get better at the Camera at the time as well because I did hobby type of photography at the time and of course as time went by I got better at it and eventually went to school for photography through Alpha Academy and have a Diploma in Freelance Photography. I personally, started getting jobs through self marketing which I didn’t know much about until some I gained some clients and that was Jay Fox and Gary Nash which was part of the Rising Up Band and so they loved my work so they said yes to my poster I made for them.
Samuel Brock, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I am Samuel Brock Flynn owner of Samuel Flynn Photography & Samuel Brock Flynn Show , I started out as a Hobbyist photographer and now I am someone who gets paid in the field of photography and Web Design work as Well I have some private clients that I have done work for . My clients like my work that I do in Web Design and photography work as well.
I came from a family that’s Good Hearted people and they have been in Crossville for many of Years . I also own a podcast called Samuel Brock Flynn Show and I do talk about business , politics and photography and other stuff as well.
You can check it Out on Amazon, IHeart Radio & Spotify .
Now to do all these things , it takes time to master your craft I am still learning I am not finished yet but it takes time to do all these things and even photography takes time because of editing and so does a podcast it takes time to prepare to make sure the looks appear appropriate and that background appears nice and clean and make sure people aren’t distracted and make sure no extra noise is added .
How I do it is plan around your daily job and be on time and on topic of what you’re talking about .
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
I built my audience through making random cool and nice edited videos for TikTok and Facebook and what I usually do is edit the video I made before publishing it and what is always best is look over the final video make sure it looks right. One of my car videos got up to 20k views on TikTok which I did promote it to see where it would go and the numbers surprised me .
What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
Is usually word of mouth and advertising online and using my podcast as a tool too , of course advertise my photography service as well . Sometimes, I will usually create an ad online and get it published to gain clientele .
I also will show my works so people know what I do , it’s more of an online portfolio.
I usually do include web design within the photography business now I use to do that independently but not anymore .
