Sampson, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is Sampson Leon Miller ( also known in music as Paid Leone ). I am a hip hop artist and business owner. I have a wholesale and real estate business called Carbon Castle which was created in September of 2022 to rehabilitate and refurbish vacant and incomplete properties. As far my music I have my own distinct and diverse style when it comes to hip hop. I have been an MC for 2 years exploring the responsibility of business when it comes to music because I’m independent, I own the masters and publishing to all my music. ( Something I take pride in respectfully considering most artist in my field do not due to label restriction)
I believe in being hands on with my crafts wether its learning photography and video editing to recording and mixing my own songs. I try my best to orient myself in all key positions that can bring music to life. I believe doing so can definitely groom you into a more complete package when you implement that way of operation in any creative passion.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
I want to create generational wealth for my family while maintaining a resourceful and intellectual foundation that inspires entrepreneurship through creative arts and business. My family isn’t the lowest on the living class spectrum but we lack resources and information needed to excel in desired fields of business and creative arts. I am my parents only child so I feel its important to carry my fathers name considering those circumstances.
Since I can remember I’ve always been drawn to a more financially free living much like my culture counterparts. Every since I started my own business I have been building a solid foundation for all my businesses through attained intellect, hands on experience, and connections that is need to build an everlasting brand.
An addition focus in my journey is creating a brand composed of multiple streams of entertainment, services to the community, and lucrative and influential Businesses.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being an artist is knowing the things created are a unique expression of yourself. I believe it’s hard for a lot of people to express themselves in a artistic manner. Some people don’t recognize and understand the connection between expression and creation.
I am in control of anything that I make, I always been the type of person to want a sense of control over what I make as far as my passions.
Being independent in music and business takes research and hands on experience which is very rewarding in more ways than one.
I get a lot of self satisfaction from making moves on my journey while receiving experience in the process in multiple aspects of my craft. That alone is a reward to me.
During my process I have had to take music down that was in my opinion the best hip hop in Kansas City, but due to lack of knowledge and business foundation I’ve had to refurbish a catalog of 40 songs, so I had to learn the business side of music. Having to do that has been a reward in itself also. The intelligence on the business side was acquired through trial and error of course., which has made me a more complete artist and entrepreneur.
