Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to SAMN X. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
SAMN, appreciate you joining us today. What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?
Growing up you’re not really taught to go after what you really want. Music is apart of all of us, we just didn’t know we could make it until we tried. At the root of it all, we just want to express ourselves, create worlds through sound, convey feelings that most people can’t put into words and spit that hot shit. We believe in ourselves because we believe in each other, if we can’t find inspiration we look to each other. We don’t try to be unique, we just do us and that’s the best part about doing what you love.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
We’re six kids from the desert inspired by the world. We got into music based off of a love for music since we were all young but realizing we could create our own music was pivotal. The sound is unique because of a wide variety of music we listen to. We like to call it controlled chaos and that is translated through our sound. At the same time there’s a subtle unity in each track. For those that don’t know us, we just want to make good music, look good doing it and make an impact through our art.
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
Our electric performances, our variety of personalities and being able to move as one. Networking.
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
Within our first year of making music, we lost an entire hard drive of music and we kept going.
We were invited to perform at a show and when we showed up, no one was there but by the end we had a full crowd.
We got invited to open for DC The Don on a literal days notice, we killed it and got up for work the next morning. We all still work jobs while pursuing music.
