Samira, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Do you take vacations? Why or why not?

Oh yes I do . I believe in balance as much as I believe in grinding hard for your business. I do take a vacation at least once every 2 months . I need it so I can come back motivated and energized . It is a small cost with a huge return.

You can keep working no rest (which is great ) but the mental burn outs and anxiety is definitely gonna cost more . Every now and then I like to take some time rest and relax. I always get inspired on my trips as well .

I will advise entrepreneurs , make sure to rest , take some time . It is good for innovation, creativity and mental / physical health . You need balance always to be able to function at a 100 % capacity

– how you got into your industry / business / discipline / craft etc:

Smelling good has always been something I took pride in. As a little girl, sometimes, I would steal my mum’s perfumes. Even when I had no money, I will rather starve and save up to buy a bottle of perfume. I had to smell good always. When I was ready to start a business , it was really simple for me to decide what I wanted to get into – FRAGRANCE !! I always wanted to do something I was passionate about . ,Makes it easy to take risks . lol . I believe smelling good and knowing how to layer your perfumes to last all day is an act of luxury and a class act of its own. Getting compliments like ” you smells so good ” has the ability to make your day better . Every time I layered my perfumes , people will stop me and ask me ” What do you have on? You smell so good ” . This compliments first of all had smiling all day and also really inspired me to want to share this with people / everyone. I realized as well that lots of people have no idea what perfume oils are .

what type of products/services/creative works you provide,

I am in the beauty industry . My products are perfume oils . Most people always get confused as to what perfume oils are and if they are same as essential oils . Just a quick background knowledge , 100 % of perfumes we use from eau de toilette, eau de parfum etc are made up of perfume oils and alcohol , the more oils a perfume has the more it lasts and more costly . Our Perfume oils have 0% alcohol and 100% oils. It can work for those whose skin are sensitive to the alcohol in perfumes.

what problems you solve for your clients

We cater to both male and female clients . Yes , men can use perfume oils as well . Perfume oils even though potent are very gentle compared to the eau de parfums etc. Layering with these oils will make your perfumes last all day ,
It has the ability to create a trail when you walk by or even announce your presence before you say a word. We are bringing luxury to our clients through fragrances .

Depending on your body chemistry ,perfume oils have the power to take your regular smelling perfume from 0 – 100 in a heart beat especially when it dries down. Always remember people will never forget how you smelled – musty or luxurious .

what you think sets you apart from others.

Our perfume oils have no alcohol and they can last 10-15hours hours or more depending on where you apply them , very portable , affordable and easy to use . These notes will have you feeling like luxury . They work with all skin types .

what are the main things you want potential clients/followers/fans to know about you/your brand/your work/ etc.

We cater to both men and women . Yes men and women can wear perfume oils . It is an act of self care . Get into it !
Perfume oils work best when you apply on your pulse points , beard for the men , braids/locs for the ladies
Layering your perfumes with these oils will have your perfumes lasting longer as you don’t have to use too much of it
You can wear these oils at home , to the gym, to bed etc . any time

How did you put together the initial capital you needed to start your business?

Not much to my story .My business is fully self funded . I had been setting aside money each month for the past year towards my business capital

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?

Word of mouth , referrals and pop up shops .

Word of mouth : I wear the products I sell and it speaks for itself , I get stopped every time about what I have on. This is a great conversation starter as well .

Referrals : Those who have purchased before get asked about what they have on and boom ! iyrahluxeoils :) . They also talk about my products with their community

Pop Up : I always have pop events and this gives people a chance to smell and decide on what to purchase . Also those who purchase always get a sample or two of other scents . This helps a lot especially with blind buyers .
