We were lucky to catch up with Samiah Nicole recently and have shared our conversation below.
Samiah , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
I first knew that I wanted to become a creative in 2020. I knew that I was creative by nature and I wanted to find a way to express that gift while helping others. I had become discontent with just doing my regular job in education. When the pandemic came, it gave me more time to think of ways to be creative, take a risk, and bet on myself. After doing inner work and gaining confidence in myself, I decided that I wanted to start a coaching business and use my gift of teaching to help others. I eagerly enrolled into a coaching program and soon after getting certified, I began coaching. I synonymously created health and life related content focusing on Instagram and Facebook. I have now recently decided to focus on my new endeavor, Youtube.
Samiah , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Hello there! I am Samiah Nicole and I am a certified health and life coach who creates content and coaches women to help them build and maintain their self confidence. A couple years ago I took a risk and decided to pursue coaching and have not looked back since. I am most proud of myself for building my own confidence and believing enough in myself to get started.
I provide hour long coaching calls and allow you to share yourself with me. I care about your goals, hope, dreams, and burdens. I have a background in counseling and strong desire to help. I use empathy to empower, enlighten, and educate clients to guide them on their own path to the confidence they seek to have. I also like to entertain clients with humor and relatability. People that I have coached have shared with me that I make them feel comfortable to share without feeling judged. I also share my personal flaws that relate to them and tell them that they have my permission not to be perfect. That has made me stand out.
Are there any books, videos, essays or other resources that have significantly impacted your management and entrepreneurial thinking and philosophy?
One book that has impacted me greatly is “The Power of Positive Thinking” by Norman Vincent Peale. It helped me to adopt the correct mindset to build the grit it takes to build entrepreneurial muscle. Other books such as The Power of Self Confidence by Brian Tracy, Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill, Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki have also helped me. It’s also really important to develop your mindset to prepare you for entrepreneurship. I also suggest consuming business content from different creatives. A couple of my personal favorites are Anthony O’Neal and Tony Gaskins.
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect go being a creative to me is when people take the time to tell you how you have helped them. It means so much to me when people are positively affected by my services or my content because the purpose of what I do is to help.
