We were lucky to catch up with Sami Nomair recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Sami , thanks for joining us today. We’d love to hear you experience with and lessons learned from recruiting and team building.
When it comes to building a strong and effective team, the most important thing to always keep in mind is having an aligned vision. A strong team is crucial to day to day activities and gatherring the right people takes time, it’s a lot of trial and error. Patience and persitance is key. In my experience what sets a good team apart from a bad one is being able to recognize who shares a sense of purpose with you and your company. At Citiguard what matters most is being of service to our community. Our commitment is to secure and protect as best we can. In order to do that, it is important to have a diversity of perspectives and skills brought to the table this allows us to problem-solve and continue to innovate and grow. At our core, all our employees share a vision of improving the community in which we reside and we know that in order to do that, we all have to do our part. There’s a lot of things that could have been done different, but honestly if they would have been done differently it wouldn’t have led us to the team we have now and the experiences we’ve gotten along the way.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I have been in security industry since 2006 working my way through different sites and positions, gathering an understanding of what sets apart outstanding services from mediocre ones. In 2014, I set out on my own with one mission in mind secure our community and provide quality service no matter what. We’ve been fortunate and have seen growth over the last decade. We’re also extremely grateful. I think the key to our sucess has been that regardeless of growth, we always put the client needs above our own. I like to be on first name basis with our clients and no matter what I make myself availale 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. I can’t tell you the amount of times I’ve been woken up for emergency service requests. We go above and beyond to be available especially during fire season, we don’t hesitate to ensure we can get someone out there to help local law enforcement. AS a result we have built a close relationship with law enforcement and have been able to give back in ways we couldn’t imagine. Right now, we are working on expanding our efforts to be of service helping address our homeless crisis. We work with countless organizations like LAHSA, PATH, Hope of the Valley, just to name a few. We are passionate about ensuring that those being affected by the crisis have a safe place to sleep and can get the help they need to move forward.
Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
We get a lot of business from referals. Thanks to our commitment to the community and our clients, new business comes from word of mouth. We also meet clients at charity events with like minded individuals who are interested in bettering the community.
How do you keep in touch with clients and foster brand loyalty?
What sets us apart from other companies is our commitment to providing quality customer service. The way I see it, the best way to foster brand loyalty is to create a relationship where the customer is taken care of. The best way to achieve that is to be transparent about what service you can provide and to do everything in your power to ensure they go off flawlessly. This doesn’t mean that things are perfect or go smoothly everytime. It simply means that in the event anything does go wrong we have a procedure in place to access and reconfigure services to meet client expectations. Personally, I like to make sure clients know who I am, my availability and feel conformatable letting our team know what our faults are and how we can improve them. Going above and beyond at that level allows us to build loyalty and trust. Over the years we’ve had clients cancel services for a variety of reasons and come back. Everytime they do, they say that our quality of service for the pricepoint is what has them return.
