Hi Samera , thanks for joining us today. To kick things off, we’d love to hear about things you or your brand do that diverge from the industry standard.

Samera , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Quick Tip LLC was founded by four black women, Jamecia Bowers, Elise Coleman, Aisha Henderson, and myself. Our company started with a simple conversation. I recounted the story about being in a situation where I didn’t have cash to tip. Elise and I agreed that this problem often arises. Our first thought was to create an app that would address this issue. This prompted me to contact my friend, Aisha who is in the tech industry. Her immediate response was that apps were not the trend. She suggested that we look into QR codes. We came up with a solution to use QR codes and link pages for those service providers, such as valets, housekeepers, shuttle drivers etc. to receive their gratuities efficiently & electronically instead of having to hear customers say, “Sorry, I don’t carry cash!” We quickly realized this solution would work for taking payments as well. There is a new reality when it comes to taking payments. Practically no one carries cash anymore, and we are rapidly moving towards a cashless society. Missed tips because of cashless customers becomes a thing of the past with our custom QR code and Tap Card for payment options. We also elevated our efforts with Digital Business Cards, making sharing contact information quick and easy. Not only are our products a great business tool but also an environmentally friendly way to spread your business’ message! When a customer chooses Quick Tip LLC, they’re not just getting a standard DIY experience – they’re getting the personalized touch that sets us apart. Our team ensures that the QR Code and Link Page are not only beautifully crafted but also effectively managed to suit the customer’s needs. With our innovative Tap Card feature, giving quick access to their business information is a breeze. We are most proud of providing outstanding customer service, so our customers can focus on their business.
How’d you meet your business partner?
The story of how we formed our team is fairly simple. Our team consists of family and friends. Three of us are related, and one is my long time friend who I met while at Spelman College. Elise Coleman is our Director of Customer Satisfaction; she brings 30+ years of customer service experience to our team. Our Chief Technical Officer is Aisha Henderson. She has over 10 years of IT experience in Technical Support. She keeps Quick Tip ahead of trending technology. Jamecia Bowers is our Chief Financial Officer. She not only keeps our financial books but also lends her aesthetic talents to our graphic designs. She’s also sole proprietor of her own spa for over 10 years. Finally, I am the Director of Marketing and Sales, I handle our marketing and have over 10 years of event & project management experience. Though there have been challenges, being in a partnership has proven to be very rewarding. Together, we are Quick Tip LLC.
Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
We have found the most effective strategy for growing our clientele has been in-person marketing. While technology plays a significant role in expanding brand awareness through channels like social media, we’ve found that nothing beats the impact of face-to-face interactions when it comes to explaining our services and building trust with potential customers. Hosting events, participating in trade shows, and vending has allowed us to connect with potential customers in a personal and meaningful way. We pride ourselves on delivering a concierge experience to each and every one of our customers. As a small business, we have the privilege of dedicating time to truly understanding the unique needs and preferences of our customer base. These in-person interactions not only allow our customers to gain a deeper understanding of our products and services but also create strong and lasting relationships over time.
Additionally, we compliment our in-person efforts with technology-driven strategies. By utilizing this approach, we’ve been able to create a marketing strategy that combines the best of both worlds which has led to sustainable growth. Ultimately, we are devoted to guiding each of our customers into a digital future while delivering good old-fashioned customer service.
