Alright, Samantha thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Alright, let’s take a stroll on memory lane, back to when you were an apprentice or intern. What’s a memorable story from that time that you can share with us?
The most impactful transition in my life began at the Farmer’s Market. At the time I had been working as an Esthetician all over the country and I loved the work, but I wanted to elevate it somehow.
One Saturday morning I met two beautiful ladies working an herbal apothecary booth. I introduced myself and asked if they had any interest in adding another person into their space. The answer was yes- “Show up on Wednesday, and we’ll see if we can dance.”
Since that moment these women took me under their wing. We’ve travelled to Idaho to study under their teacher and have spent many hours in the woods together, holding each other’s hands through life. Within these relationships I realized the importance of sharing the abundance of knowledge, the power of trusting our own intuitions, and by the act of giving we are receiving 10 fold.
Samantha , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
In the beginning of 2020, I gently started taking steps to run my own business. The world of scent has been my guiding light as far back as I can remember. Wild Harvested Esthetics began in a little trailer on our property up in Paradise. We started our business at the same time we were rebuilding our home that we lost in the 2018 Campfire. It was a wild time. The world is a curious place; I see people more than ever feeling the call to nature and asking for the healing beauty of plants. From the beginning I had a linear focus on creating products and services that connected the user deeply to nature. I’ve become consumed with tincturing aromatic plant materials to craft botanical scents that catapult the wearer into another state of mind and place, expanding their hearts. Scent has a sensational effect on our emotional experience, thoughts and memories.
We have built this business around the sensuality of nature by sustainably wild harvesting plant material in the open spaces of Northern California and the greater Pacific Northwest and cultivating organically home-grown herbs. We craft botanical perfume blends with an open door to possibility; using flowers, roots, essential oils (literally nothing is off the table), always looking to create mysterious scents that share the story of the abundant world around us. Our result-oriented skincare line shares many of the same philosophies and is created in remarkably small batches with only the purest organic ingredients for highest potency.
How do you keep in touch with clients and foster brand loyalty?
The most important part of this business is absolute uncompromised quality. At Wild Harvested Esthetics every single product leaving our hands is something we would be thrilled to use ourselves, and/or gift to our most dear friends and family. Rapid expansion is not a goal of ours so every single product that is made goes through extremely limited fingertips. Our batches are micro, everything is hand stirred, designed, poured, and labeled by us. Working with the plants, products and perfumes in this fashion requires an education process so we work directly one on one with every single customer, which has proven to form lasting relationships.
Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
We believe whole-heartedly that the products do the talking for us, and we take great pride in all of our ingredients. We’ve grown Wild Harvested Esthetics solely through referrals and word of mouth and growing our business this way fills my cup beyond measure.
