Samantha, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today How did you come up with the idea for your business?
Sammy Swipes started as a bit of an accident. I studied business in college and went into finance and investor relations upon graduation – dating coaching was never part of the plan. What began as helping my friends quickly turned into a genuine passion for me.
I’ve always been the “go-to” friend for dating advice — the one people would text screenshots to asking, “What should I say back?” or “Do you think they like me?” It became a running joke that I should be the one running their dating apps.
In 2017, I started helping friends rewrite their profiles, choose better photos, and navigate app conversations. I noticed that even the most confident and accomplished people struggled with using apps — they didn’t like them, didn’t trust them, and definitely didn’t feel like themselves on them. I wanted to change that — to help people show up online the same way they do in real life, and to approach dating from a place of confidence, clarity, and authenticity.
That’s what sparked Sammy Swipes — a way to help people feel seen and understood through their dating profiles, conversations, and choices. It quickly evolved from a fun side project into something real when I saw how immediate the results were: better matches, more genuine connections, and a lot more confidence.
What made me most excited was seeing people enjoy dating again — not just swipe to swipe but truly connect. I wasn’t just solving a problem; I was giving people back hope that dating could feel human again.

Samantha, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’m Sammy, founder of Sammy Swipes — a boutique date coaching, app profile consulting and modern matchmaking business. I help people translate who they really are into how they show up — both on apps and in real life.
My services range from profile revamps and app strategy to conversation coaching and matchmaking. Every client gets personalized, hands-on guidance — because dating isn’t one-size-fits-all.
Clients come to me when they’re tired of the apps or ready to date differently. I blend the structure of great branding (how you present yourself) with the empathy of real connection (how you feel while doing it). What sets me apart is that it’s personal — no scripts, no judgment, just strategy rooted in authenticity.
At its core, Sammy Swipes is about confidence, clarity, and connection — helping people date with intention and actually enjoy the process again.

We’d love to hear the story of how you turned a side-hustle into a something much bigger.
It did! Sammy Swipes started as a side hustle back in 2017, when I was still working in investor relations. At first, it was just me helping friends — rewriting profiles, picking better photos, or figuring out what to say back to that confusing text. Then friends started referring friends, and before I knew it, I had people I didn’t even know reaching out for help.
Over time, I refined my process and expanded my services — from profile consulting and conversation coaching to a more holistic approach that now includes modern matchmaking. Each step felt like a natural evolution based on what clients needed most.
The turning point came in 2024 when I realized that what started as a passion project had become something much bigger — a full-blown business that genuinely changed how people approached dating. Taking the leap to go full-time was both terrifying and exciting, but I’ve never looked back.
What makes it feel so rewarding is waking up every day knowing that I get to help people feel more confident, hopeful, and empowered in such a vulnerable part of life. Seeing clients shift from frustration to genuine excitement about dating again is what makes all of it worth it.

Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
Most of my new clients come through word of mouth. When someone has a great experience, they tell their friends — and that’s truly the best compliment. There’s nothing better than getting a message that says, “My friend worked with you and loved it — I need your help too.”
That kind of genuine referral has fueled Sammy Swipes from the very beginning. Happy clients naturally bring in more clients, and I love that my business has grown through real stories and shared experiences rather than traditional advertising.
Recently, I’ve been building out my online presence more intentionally — sharing relatable, honest content about dating, confidence, and communication. It’s been exciting to connect with new audiences and see how social media can expand the same sense of trust and authenticity that started everything in the first place.
