Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Samantha Paige Wierick. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Samantha Paige, thanks for joining us today. Owning a business isn’t always glamorous and so most business owners we’ve connected with have shared that on tough days they sometimes wonder what it would have been like to have just had a regular job instead of all the responsibility of running a business. Have you ever felt that way?
I’ll start by saying I absolutely love what I do. I’ll also say it isn’t easy and wasn’t designed for the weak. I have regrouped many times throughout this journey, and I honestly think my confidence and faith in myself has pulled me through a lot of tough times. You must believe in what you’re doing, and you have to believe in yourself. Do I think having a “regular job” would be easier? Of course, but the thought of me not creating art, well, that’s just not a life I would be okay with. This is where I belong. It’s a lot of late nights, odd jobs, and the occasional tears that get these films off the ground. Funding is something that haunts every small business, but what’s nice about my work is that the art is our real reward. The money will come. The best thing I’ve learned is to lean into the shifts of business ownership. We started this company to make films and shortly realized we needed to shift to make what we wanted to happen. We still make amazing films, but we now help others with their dreams as well. It’s hard and challenging, but so rewarding too. I think it’s important to always stay close to and focus on your “why’s”. Why are you doing what you’re doing? Hold on to those things and it’ll help pull you through the tough days and be there on the good days to celebrate your wins.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
We provide the total package for our clients. And I couldn’t be prouder of the work we’ve put in so far. This industry is difficult but staying true to us and staying genuine is what creates lifetime partnerships and clienteles. We do everything from headshots and reels to commercial work and films. The quality of work you get out of us is the same whether you’re getting commercial work or just starting off and need reels for auditions, I think that’s important in this line of work. Really making sure that everyone feels like our number one client – because you are! Some recent works I’m proud of is our short film, Megan. We worked hard on that and learned a lot from it. We are also working towards making a feature film called You’re My Brother which is something I was able to write and really pour a lot of our creativity into. We’re working on a documentary called The Ukraine Story: An Anthem of Glory and Freedom which will be in festivals this year. We are doing bigger and better commercials with new companies like Connected Health Centers and Sync AC. It’s starting to feel like we’re carving a path for us and have hit a really good stride this year. It’s nice taking a second and recognizing what we’ve accomplished… and I can’t wait to see what’s to come!
What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
Our focus has always been to create a space where people can believe in themselves. We want to encourage people to invest in their companies, their passions, their dreams. We have a great eye for branding and marketing and when we work with people who have the foundation of belief in themselves, it’s easy to take that and run with it for them! People see authenticity when working with us, and that allows for genuine referrals and word of mouth. We take care of our clients so that when they talk to their friends and social circles, they think about recommending us first because of their positive experience.
How’d you meet your business partner?
I met Sierra Clark in college. I had just moved back after a pretty tough year in California and was so lucky to have stumbled upon my work soulmate. I finally met someone with the same artistic style, same drive and same want for a life in this industry. Shortly after that Gilden was born. You won’t find a better team out there – no one works the way we do. We pride ourselves on that!
