We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Samantha Lyons. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Samantha below.
Samantha, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
My mission is to spread love, help people feel less alone, and encourage everyone to live as the truest expression of themselves.
You would be shocked by the number of people who do not feel genuine peace and joy in their lives.
When I was a teenager, I was such a bright spirit outwardly, but inside, I was desperate for genuine love. As I got older, I became a teacher, and I realized that this desire was universal.
Every single person just wants to be loved and cherished for who they are. They want to be seen for all of the value they possess, and they want to have the freedom to be themselves.
In 2019, when my mom committed suicide, I was struck by the thought that the world would miss out on her gifts, and so would I. It really accentuated the gravity of the truth that people so desperately need love to feel whole.
One of my gifts has been learning to love myself, and through my journey, I have gained so many tools that have helped me transform my mindset, and ultimately, the way I see the world.
Through my writing, I have always tried to portray the depth of human thoughts and feelings. The book I am working on right now digs deeper into self-love topics and my coaching business aims to extend the topics in my writing by providing an avenue where I can share everyday tips to promote creating a life you’re proud of through consistent action, self-love, and mindset shifting.
In my life coaching business, I aspire to help propel my mission forward by offering 1-on-1 support to women, to be the person I needed and whom so many of us need.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I am Samantha Lyons, and I wear many hats!!!
I am a wife and mom first. I am a lifelong writer. I have been a teacher for ten years and have a master’s degree in Educational Leadership. I help my husband run a family business. I am a soon to be published author, and most recently, I am a life coach. Through my work experience in education, I learned so much about people, and how we are really all the same. It’s so simple- we just want to be loved for who we are.
Experiences and traumas and wrong turns often lead us to a place where we wake up and we don’t even know who we are or how we got there. It gets muddied and complicated when it doesn’t have to be.
I got into the self-help industry by accident. I just kept seeing a need and following my heart.
I find that I am often called toward a writing piece or project, and it is my job to keep saying yes and being brave enough to forge a path forward.
I don’t think anyone knows what they’re doing, I just think they’re brave enough to try and through trial and error, they end up gaining the valuable insight that propels them to the next right thing and then the next right thing until they look around and have realized a dream through consistency and audacity.
My goal is to write a book to inspire people to be the best versions of themselves, but my coaching business is an avenue to individualize the experience and hone in on helping people in a more personalized way.
I’m in the final phase of my book and thought, “Why wait?” Which is why I decided to launch my coaching business before the book is released.
One thing you will always get with me is unfiltered warmth, authenticity, and humor. I want people to feel comfortable coming as they are, so I send that message to my followers and readers.
I think my clients get all of that on a more personal level, and I also get to share all of the strategies that really work that I have compiled through trial and error.
Right now, I am most proud that I am nearly finished with my book, and I am excited to see how it is received by my readers.
I’m also currently accepting clients at a super affordable rate because I want self-love life coaching to be available to everyone.
My coaching program is well thought out, and it is everything I needed and had to discover the hard way.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding aspect of being a writer is how often I unintentionally write something that was exactly what a reader needed to hear.
God and the universe are so serendipitous that I can be sitting in my car waiting for my kids to get out of school in October and write something that resonates with a reader so much that by the time they read it on the other side of the world in March, they reach out to me to let me know that it was exactly what they needed to hear on that very day, in that very moment.
The world is just so incredible. Timing and interconnectedness never get old.
Helping people or reaching people in a capacity where you have the power to change lives is something that is unmatched.

Is there something you think non-creatives will struggle to understand about your journey as a creative?
I think one huge misconception about creatives is that they are always able to create or always in the flow state. Sometimes I sit down to write, and I’m just not feeling it. Other times I am taking the trash out, and I sprint back inside because I have two ideas I must jot down right away. What I have noticed is that it’s really important to take advantage of the flow of ideas when they come. I have also learned that I get a ton of ideas when I am in bed just about to fall asleep. I once had an idea for a writing piece, and I was so exhausted, but I lugged myself out of bed to jot down some notes, and it led to some of my favorite work. I have certain tried and true methods that can assist in getting me into a creative flow, but it’s important to take advantage of it when you’re there.
My advice to any creative is to read or listen to something that inspires you. Music is a major outlet for me, and I can control my inspiration by listening to certain songs that make me feel moved.
Emotional videos also get me churning, but that’s probably strange!
I also think deep breathing and quiet time in the morning is important to learn to be present and have a clear mind.
I have learned that gardening, yoga, and hobbies that allow for “quiet mind” moments are helpful.
Lastly, sometimes I free write and then a single word or idea will inspire something greater, so I also think being open to creating anything without a specific destination is a good idea.
