Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Samantha DeSoto. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Samantha, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Alright, so one thing we think people don’t talk about nearly enough is investments – either time or money. What’s one of the best or worst investments you’ve made and what did you learned from the experience?
The best investment I made was setting up a good project management software. Investing time and money in project management software makes all the difference when it comes to keeping track of your clients, projects, and helping your employees stay on track. It’s easy to believe that you don’t need an official setup, or project management will take care of itself, or “that’s your employee’s job”. By investing in this software and properly utilizing it, you help your employees and yourself not exert all of your energy and mental capacity trying to figure out what needs to be done and when.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Sierra Delta Marketing, LLC is a digital marketing agency that only works with small businesses. We offer services from custom WordPress website builds and maintenance, organic and local SEO, content marketing, and digital ads. Our passion is to help small businesses have a competitive edge against the large corporations and private equity that are buying up and driving out the competition.
We bring agency-level experience at a price point that new and established businesses can afford. We want to build our community and give back to those who make it what it is.

How’d you meet your business partner?
We actually met when we started at another digital marketing agency at the same time. We were in different departments, but did our initial “meet the team” training together. We had our first interaction when he was publishing content for a website. I was the only one at the company who had experience working on the WIX website platform, so I taught him how to build the page and what pitfalls to look out for.
We would hang out at the company’s happy hours, and both ended up joining the Culture Club at the agency. We quickly became friends playing D&D together. After about a year and a half of being friends, we started our romantic relationship. Another year later, we were focused on building our business together. I wouldn’t have had the courage to focus on our business full-time if it weren’t for the love and support he showed me.

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
We have gained most of our clientele from word-of-mouth referrals. We pride ourselves on offering a quality product, and all of our clients can’t help but tell everyone how happy they are with their investment. Just by offering a good product, we have been able to scale our business without needing to run ads or worry about whether we are going to keep the doors open. Every week, we are getting new business, and we are happy knowing we are delivering for our community.
