We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Samantha Burmeister. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Samantha below.

Samantha, appreciate you joining us today. Naming anything – including a business – is so hard. Right? What’s the story behind how you came up with the name of your brand?

When I was working for a company, I could have done my job remotely – but they refused. So, when I started my business 5 years ago, I called it Nomad Copy Agency so that people would KNOW that I was fully remote – and whether I’m in Cape Town, California, or somewhere in-between, I can deliver incredible work.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

I started my business as a freelance writer – but quickly realized that I could combine my professional sales background with writing to help people sell way more online. That’s when I niched into websites and sales pages.

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?

In 2022, the economy took a turn for the worse and large spending (like on great copywriting) decreased. It was then that I created Copy On Demand, a low-cost monthly membership where people could write their own copy, but with my guidance as they did so. In the process, they become better copywriters for their businesses. It’s the first service of it’s kind, and people love gaining confidence in their writing over time!

Are there any books, videos or other content that you feel have meaningfully impacted your thinking?

For me, the 4 Hour Workweek changed the way that I see work & how I spend my time. While I work a lot more than 4 hours, I love how much time freedom my business gives me. I choose life over lifestyle every day.

I’m also getting into real estate investing, and Tax-Free Wealth is a book that’s changing the way I see spending in my other business.
