We were lucky to catch up with Samantha Anne recently and have shared our conversation below.
Samantha, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?
Before the pandemic, I found myself in a job that left me feeling unfulfilled and disconnected from my creative passions. My home was filled with art supplies, yet my busy schedule made it difficult to dedicate time to my craft. When the pandemic hit, I was presented with the opportunity to finally explore my artistic interests and develop my skills.
Although I never attended formal art school, my passion for art has always been a guiding force in my life.

Samantha, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Coming from a family of diverse artists working in various mediums, I was drawn to art as a means of self-expression. This journey led me to establish Luxeart, where I was fortunate to begin my art career at Whiskey Tango Foxtrot. There, I organized art events and worked to raise visibility for fellow artists within the Austin community.
My path continued with opportunities to curate exhibitions at Freddos on South Congress and the W Hotel. As my career progressed, I became involved in pop-up events across the city, including a unique collaboration with Show Me Pizza. For this promotion, I created marketing materials featuring local artists’ work on pizza boxes—a project close to my heart, as it helped engage the community and support local creatives, especially those who are more introverted or prefer to stay home.
One of the most rewarding projects I worked on was the activation of two large buildings on South Congress and Live Oak Street. I was fortunate to have the opportunity to rent affordable studio spaces to local artists, providing them with access to creative environments close to downtown. The neighboring building was used for experimental events, where we had the chance to learn and grow together as a creative community.
These experiences were particularly valuable to me because they allowed me to step into a space of experimentation, free from the pressure of organizing events at other venues. I was able to explore sculpture and teach fellow artists how to work with resin, an experience that was both personally fulfilling and rewarding as I was able to give back to the community that supported me.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
When I was first offered the opportunity to curate the W Hotel, I partnered with an individual who appeared well-connected and ambitious. At the time, I didn’t conduct enough research into this person and, as a creative, I was swept away by their energy and connections. As creatives, we often rely on the flow of energy and connection, which can sometimes cloud our judgment. Unfortunately, this individual attempted to take control of my business, capitalizing on the fact that I hadn’t yet filed for my LLC.
In hindsight, I truly believe that life sometimes presents us with challenges disguised as lessons or gifts, even when they are not what we initially want to face. The experience was a turning point for me. After parting ways with this individual, I founded Luxeart with an official LLC. I built a new team, setting clear and healthy boundaries, and since then, we have been steadily growing. Luxeart embodies a commitment to high-quality service and exceptional experiences, and in many ways, the name “Luxeart” felt like a natural progression after overcoming that challenge.

We’d love to hear your thoughts on NFTs. (Note: this is for education/entertainment purposes only, readers should not construe this as advice)
I have personally designed and sold NFTs, both of my own artwork and for other artists. In my experience, the success of NFTs as a marketplace heavily relies on consistent brand-building and global visibility. Unless an artist is actively working to establish a strong personal brand or engaging in projects that gain significant attention worldwide, it can be challenging for NFTs to sell quickly or gain traction.
The reality is that, for many artists, the demand for NFTs may not be as strong as the initial hype suggested. Personally, I don’t know many people who are actively seeking to purchase NFTs at this time. While the market has shown potential in the past, it remains uncertain whether it will rebound to the same level of prominence in the future.
Ultimately, while NFTs can offer a new avenue for artists to explore, it’s important to approach them with a clear understanding of the market’s volatility and the need for a strategic, long-term approach to success in this space.
