Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Samantha Adams. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Samantha, appreciate you joining us today. One of our favorite things to brainstorm about with friends who’ve built something entrepreneurial is what they would do differently if they were to start over today. Surely, there are things you’ve learned that would allow you to do it over faster, more efficiently. We’d love to hear how you would go about setting things up if you were starting over today, knowing everything that you already know.
If Sam from 5 years ago was staring me in the face, with no business and working a poorly paying corporate job, I would tell her one thing:
You’re afraid, I know. But that’s the best time to take the leap.
This fear of failure held me back from chasing my dreams for a long time. It followed me into business as well. I was afraid to fail, afraid of what others would think, and afraid of confrontation. Starting a business at 23 wasn’t exactly on my radar but I knew one thing for sure: I wasn’t going to make money for other people anymore. I wanted to build my own career.
Hindsight is always 20/20, but if I could change one thing about starting my company back then, it would be to ask for help. There is no shame in asking for expertise in a field, seeking support, or just needing additional backing to help see your vision through. No one, literally NO ONE, has done it alone. They have always had a system. A network. It sounds cliche, but teamwork really does make the dream work. And you’d be hard-pressed to find people who will turn down an opportunity to support you if you have the courage to ask.

Samantha, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’ve been a professional marketer for 7 years. After building a multi million dollar influencer network for corporate America, I decided I was tired of making other people all of their money. I want to try my hand at doing this myself. SNFLWR Agencies was born from the need for impactful collaborations. Partnerships with intention and motive. We provide social media strategy and consulting, influencer collaboration and sourcing, and automation. Influencer marketing has become a multi billion dollar industry. It can be a daunting task to look at from afar. We essentially take the keys and drive your car to the finish line for you, and then provide you with a roadmap on how we got there.
Then there’s the personal arm of SNFLWR, one that’s new. I was diagnosed with Stage 2 Uterine cancer in 2021. I had a surgery to remove it in 2022 and ended up needing a full hysterectomy. That moment set my life on an entirely new course and inspired me to do more. SNFLWR now offers life coaching as well, with me! I was so tired of running in a metaphorical wheel of life and feeling like I was going nowhere. When you discover your purpose, everything else falls into place.
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together. I’ve had the genuine pleasure of meeting and connecting with some amazing people in my life, and I’ve learned so much about business and mindset from all of them. I was running my agency alone for a long time, and it wasn’t’ until someone I admired sat me down and said “you need to scale, and you don’t have enough hours in the day to do this alone.
He was right. I was stretched too thin. I read the book “Who Not How” and hired a VA, and began bringing in people who could do the things I needed even better than I could. That’s when SNFLWR started to grow and our capacity nearly tripled. But for so long I was so convinced that I needed to do everything on my own. I built this company from the ground up by myself. Blood, sweat and tears. I was so dead-set on driving that ship alone, it was starting to kill my business. Don’t let your ego get in the way of your success. Your team and your network is the most valuable thing you have in your arsenal.
Are there any books, videos or other content that you feel have meaningfully impacted your thinking?
1. Who Not How- Dan Sullivan. This will change the way you think about expansion and scaling. 2. Third Circle Theory- Pejman Ghadimi. This book helps you identify your roadmap to your purpose in life.
3. The Untethered Soul- Michael Singer. This book changed my life in more ways than you can imagine. It cracked open my soul and helped me look inward to what really matters, and helped me let go of the things that don’t.
